Anyone rented a car and picked it up on site, at the Car Care Center? We arrive around noon one day, but don't get back to the airport until around 3pm. I don't want to pay any extra days fee for the few hours overlap. So, thought we might take DME to the resort and then pick up at the CCC onsite around 3pm.

Any experience with picking up there? I have dropped off there twice and it was super easy. I LOVE being able to go pick out my own car though at the airport when we arrive!

We dont' want to rent at the airport and return onsite though, as we would have to leave earlier than we want to the day we leave.

We picked up our van at the Swan or Dolphin can't remember which it was when we had to pick up our family members at the airport. It was very easy and convieniant good luck in your decision.

Disney uses Alamo, not National. :)

My last trip I took the Magical Express to/from the airport, and picked up a car the day after I arrived, returning it the day I left. It was very easy--they pick up from the resorts every half-hour, and they even sent the driver back after I somehow missed it! The gas station is very convenient as well, right outside the MK entry, and had competitive prices to the stations outside WDW in surrounding Orlando.

Alamo and National are the same company, operating under 2 names. If you see their vans around WDW, they have both names on them. They operate both Alamo and National at the care car center and the Dolphin. This is from National's site:

We are doing just that for our trip in October. Our flight gets us to Orlando early in the morning. We are taking ME from MCO to CSR. We have reserved a car with National, pickup at the Car Care Center at 6:00 p.m. Our flight home leaves at 8:00 p.m. We will drop off the car at MCO and this way we can stay longer and still save one day on the rental charge. I got the best rate using the AMEX code and the Entertainment coupon.
