My National reservation for a mid-size car said Emerald Aisle instead of executive selection so I called to ask why. The guy I talked to said it should be Emerald Reserve with a full size car at the midsize price so that's what he changed it to. But I thought Emerald reserve meant you got exactly that, the kind of car listed on your reservation.

I want to be able to select from the executive aisle so I called back again. That woman told me that my reservation says Emerald Reserve but I can select a car from the executive aisle. Does that sound correct? What do other people's reservations say for MCO if you are executive level?

Assuming you are an executive level.

Book a full size car. It should price out the same as the midsize and will say executive on the reservation.

If you book a midsize it only says EA.

So I'm correct in thinking my reservation is screwed up? (I'm new to executive level.) I now have full size but it says reserved instead of executive level.

I am not sure. I just made Executive and have only rented using it once, but I think you are right. Reserve means you go right to the Full Size Aisle, not the EA or Executive Aisle.

This is what my recent reservation says. (I had to modify it to full size because I also had the aisle only when I booked midsize.)

Dear CAROL,

Thank you for using Nationalcar.com to modify your reservation.
Your confirmation number is: XXXXXXX
Your level of service is Executive Selection. Please proceed directly to the Executive Selection area to choose your vehicle.

Did you earn this level with actual rentals? I ask because if you just signed up for it, that may be the difference.
We are Executive Elite (means nothing in the world, only at National) and our reservations always say, your level of service is Executive Selection, please proceed to the Executive Selection to choose your car.

Yes, you're reservation is messed up. It sounds like the employee just switched it to regular full-size at the mid-size price and so you'd select from the full-size aisle. If you enter your Emerald Club # (& you're Executive level) then when you book a full-size, it will charge the mid-size price even though the full-size shows a higher price on the screen with all the cars. Your reservation email will then clearly state Executive Selection as someone else posted and you'll be able to select a full-size from that aisle or possible something larger or better if it's there.

I'd cancel your current reservation and re-book the full-size yourself.

Go National. Go Like a Pro.

on the National main Page log into your Emerald club account. Then make your reservation. It should automatically choose a full sized car and charge you the mid sized price. Your reservation should say executive selection. You can pick from either the Emerald or Executive aisle.

I just got my "welcome letter" since last year was the first time I made this. (Due to a month long rental for business. LOL!) Good timing on my part as Hertz is starting to disappoint me.. (I just have to try to forget that they are owned by the same folks that own the DREADED Alamo!)

That's exactly what happened. I called back again and this time got someone who knew what they were doing and fixed it accordingly. It says Executive Selection now.

I had booked this reservation last fall so I had a really good price and didn't want to give that up to rebook it from scratch. It got messed up when I used my free nights from the promotion late last year on this reservation and I noticed it said Emerald Aisle rather then Executive Selection. To fix it, it ended up being reserve which I knew was still wrong.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

No. I got it through an offer from a frequent flyer program. Mine expires Feb 28 2010.
