I'm trying to help BIL reserve a car for next weekend and I was looking at Mousesavers for codes, etc.

She has Contract ID's listed, I know the Disney Club you have to show your card, but do you have to do anything to use the other ones?

Anyone have any experience using these? I just don't want to get this ressie for BIL and family and then have them have a problem using it.

Or does anyone know a better rate for next week than $132 for an intermediate????

On mousesavers she has a link to Vacation Outlet that you can get a discount off plus $15 off your rental with a coupon you can print. I used the DC discount and the Vacation Outlet coupon because my rental is only for 6 days. The percentage off is alittle less than the old DC # so I was trying to get my rate down as much as possible seeing how I'm paying $252 for a full size for 6 days.

National used to charge you for a week when it was 5 or more days but that seems to have changed.

Good luck trying Vacation Outlet for a better price.

I would think any of the discount codes that are there would be ok to use, just read what she has to say about them first.

Use the Walmart contract code that is listed on Mousesavers.com. I checked the Walmart website (just go to www.walmart.com, choose vacations from the menu on the left side and then click the link to car rentals at the next screen), and the same code is listed there for anyone to use. It was one of 2 codes listed on Mousesavers.com that gave me a good discount for a SUV in November. The other one that worked was for Emerald Club members but that one made me a little nervous as the code was different from the one that was automatically filled in for me when I entered my Emerald Club #. None of the other codes listed on Mary's site gave me a discount. I don't know if it was because I'm renting an SUV, but this one was the one that worked.

I just booked with the code Mary posted from Carlson Wagonlit Travel Agency. She says she and others have used it with no special membership cards or other documentation, and I do trust what Mary posts. A lot of people read her site and use her discount ideas, so I think (want to believe) she'd have heard if there was a problem using that code. It did lower my DC + Entertainment coupon rate by $13, but I'm still paying $197 for 8 days, Emerald Aisle.

$132 sounds like a great rate these days! It's not like it used to be ---- $105 for a full sized car for 1 week. Those days seem to be gone.

I used the Carlson Wagonlit Travel code also, it gave the best rate, plus we have a $15 entertainment coupon. They had one reserved with Alamo for $199 (when they told me this I almost choked  ) I guess I'm remembering the old days too, $99 for a week... it's been three years since we rented a car so I'm pretty much out of the loop. All the taxes and surcharges floored me too, at first when I read those I thought a couple of them were optional:o LOL

Just an update: I used the Carlson Wagonlit code for my National rental in late June and it worked just fine -- in fact, I was charged LESS than my confirmation said!

With the VO coupon and Carlson Wagonlit contract ID our rate came to $202 (total with all tax) for 8 days/returning the car on the 9th day at 1pm. Intermediate size. What do you all think? Is this an ok rate?

BCVNovember, VO is Vacation Outlet. There is a link on Mousesavers for a $15 off coupon for National.

Mazzarafe - Thanks for explaining the Vacation Outlet coupon! Every little bit helps!!

Mary - Thanks for Mousesavers.com! It is a stupendous site!

I can't wait to get to WDW!!

I booked with National for a full size 12/18 - 12/23 returning late afternoon (pickup for 10:00am) for $182 using Carlson Wagonlit code and Vacation outlet coupon for $15 off.

Still holding onto my original $252 ressie. Waiting to here back from others who used code with success.
