National Car for March - codes?

I am looking at rates for March for National.
I read through a couple of threads and two codes a few had used were rejected:
Coupon NF1982JDD will expire prior to rental.
5007160: Coupon ID not found

Got any others? And where do you find them?

Also, I see many of you getting lower rates as you get closer to yoru date. Are you cancelling and rebooking? Changing?

5007160 is not a coupon code it is a contract ID for Continental airlines FF program

ND2165OJK ( coupon ID ) is good until june .....20$ off a weekly rental

I have AAA but not Ent. Card. What is the AAA contract?

The best contract ID I have used with National is 3715444. Anyone can use it and it's from car & driver magazine. It ususally offers the best rate.

Looks like for $2 more ($230) you can get a midsize SUV.

OK, i just used the car and driver contract ID and the 3715444
And I still come up 217 and 228 economy/compact AND I got this response:
"You have entered a coupon that may be required to be presented at the time of rental."


This stinks.

I just tried the other codes listed on this thread and my rate skyrocketed. I'm traveling during Easter week so my rates are already high. I'm not going to have a car the whole time, hubby is picking it up 3/22-27, 5 days plus a couple of hours.

So far the best I'm getting is $189 midsize.Many times the smaller cars have been more expensive than midsize or larger for some reason, so look at all options.

Maybe these could get you better rates, it's worth a try...
