National and EC

I booked a car online through National and when my reservation confirmation came up it said that I had counter service. No problem because I forgot to put in that I was an EC member. I called them and the nice lady on the phone said that I still had to go to the counter even though I am an EC member because I have some unsigned paperwork. I thought the whole reason to have EC was to by pass the counter. Can someone fill me in on what I am missing here?

they have to have your driver's licence and credit card information on file and you have to intial "declines" of the insurances....you can do this before you go .....by going to any "national car rental" agency and do the paper work before you go......

then when you get to orlando ......just ignore the counter suggestion and go to the emerald aisle....since you have "pre done" the information before you go ....it will be in their computer....that is just one suggestion....


you will still get to use the emerald aisle even if you decide to do the "paperwork" at the counter in orlando.....it just means this time it will take some extra effort to finish off your emerald aisle application....

personally, when we joined we took all the paper work to the buffalo airport a couple of weeks before we were scheduled to go....and had them sign us up there.....it took all of 10 minutes to do ....and we were on our way....
