I think life in a Peruvian prison sounds like a good punishment. I'm not really well versed in the Peruvian jail system, but something tells me it's not too nice and a heck of a lot worse then Aruba's jails.

Did they ever do an episode of "Locked Up Abroad" over there? It's been awhile since I have seen that show, but I remember the South American jails being dangerous, disgusting and scary.

But in my country killers,molesters and all the rif raf is protected by the law.
Two months ago a cop kidnapped his neighbor girl. He went to her home. She knew him because she walked his dog. She went with him. He raped her,strangled her and buried her in his back yard. ( the parents could see the place from there window).
Finely he got caught and now he is in jail and for a minor man slaughter. He still get his police wages and he is not fired. He has all rights on his side and he will be a free man in a few years.

BTW child rapers and killers get free weekends . Time out of jail to socialize.

You know originally I was going to point out that technically he was not charged or found guilty of Holloways murder but afterward I just feel so sad.

as an alabamian, and heck, as a human being, i'm disgusted that this waste of oxygen is still walking the planet a free man. when aruban police questioned him about natalee, his story changed TWENTY-TWO times, and yet, they still couldn't manage to find ANY evidence. he has confessed to killing her TWICE since then, and still hasn't been charged. perhaps, if the aruban police had actually done their jobs, this young woman in peru would still be alive. i pray he is found quickly and charged swiftly for this most recent murder, and my prayers go out to both families.

How do you know they didn't do their jobs? As painful as it sounds you can't convict some one on "gut" feelings or because they lied to you. Why do you think our police have such hard times convicting people (can we say OJ?)?
Confessing to a some one in a bar doesn't hold up under cross examination very well.

As much as we may hate it, the term is "Innocent until PROVEN guilty"

Peru will have the burden of proof just like every one else. hopefully creepola slipped up this time.

No, his father died only about 5-6 months ago. This is why Joran escalated, now. He no longer has daddy keeping him in check. He has already admitted (bragged really,) TWICE since then, on undercover videotape that he killed Natalee. Still, the Dutch/Aruban police won't do anything.

Let's hope the Peruvian/Chilean police can do better.

It's over a thousand miles from the Peruvian-Chilean border (Arica) and the Dutch Embassy (Santiago). He would stand out like a sore thumb in the north of Chile (not too many gringos up there). The Chilean police are VERY good, very professional, and very connected. I have a lot of hope that he will be caught long before he gets close to any embassies.

if I recall correctly, wasn't there other girls who has become missing in Aruba before Natalie? I thought I saw that on the news once but they couldn't link Joran to them......but they were young, teen, blonde, traveled there from other places.......

He IS following a clear FBI profile often used on Criminal Minds: His father died in Feb, without the control & structure his father provided, Joran, escalated. He bragged on TWO videos that he killed Natalee. One video was little more than a month after his father died.

Since most murderers revisit the scene of their crimes, or like to relive it, ON the anniversary of Natalee's death, he just happens to be with another young woman. He was probably bragging to her (like in the videos,) how he did it. She freaked. A struggle ensued, and having killed once already, murder gets easier EACH subsequent time. Second dead body found. He didn't even bother to hide this one or cover up his tracks. He didn't even make up any excuses this time. (No daddy to help him out of this one.) He quickly "left" the country, under unusual means. That is NOT a coincidence.

This latest from a CNN.com article ALSO fits in the profile of reliving and/or repeating the same procedure of a crime:

"Ricardo Flores said that police found his daughter's car about 50 blocks from the hotel, and that inside, they found pills like those used in date rape cases.

Similar to the Holloway case, van der Sloot and Flores allegedly met at a night spot, in this case, a casino. Ricardo Flores said he did not believe that his daughter knew the Dutch citizen from before.

Both of them speak English, and at the casino they struck up conversation, he said."​

I kind of know how things work in Peru. The girls father is somewhat influential. If he did it, and he is brought to trial, things could be very unpleasant for him. If he makes it to that point.
