WHAT was she thinking wearing a TOP to sing on stage?:scared1:

OMG! Wow, I hadn't seen her in a while. I forgot that's was sick. I feel sorry for her.

I don't see anything wrong with the dress. The color is pretty on her. She is very thin. I hope she is doing ok.

on the white dress she wore just before the concert was cancelled.

Friends of mine thought the dress could have been 4 inches longer given that she was performing at the National Memorial Day Concert on the Mall in Washington, DC.

It would've been better to sing on stage topless in your opinion? :confused3

I'm confused - I'm still watching it on PBS now at 10:53 (it's the end) - did they postpone it in the middle or something? I only started watching after 10 sometime and I see it's not very crowded there.

(and we did have some thunder and rain pass through here in MD a little while ago)

My DH also commented on her dress and how thin she was - I didn't realize she had been sick - he asked that, I'll have to confirm that for him.

You were watching last years program on PBS.

This year's concert area was PACKED! It was a wonderful start and sorry to see that it had to end early due to the weather coming through the DC area

The National Park Police came on the speakers and told everyone to leave the concert area.

Gary Sinise spoke that they would continue the concert.

The NPP shut down the concert in the midst of Natalie King Cole's song.

I didn't hear on the local DC news stations that the concert was restarted.

I thought her dress, the white one, was to short. Sad they stoped the show because of a storm coming in.

Ha ha - thanks! I had no clue. My DH just turned it on and I was watching it after he went to bed! There was nothing that obviously said "last year"!

As soon as they told Ms. Cole it was over they flashed on the screen that last years show would now be on. I turned it off at towards after BB King since I watched it last year. I sure sis need the tissue while it was on. Sad stories that reminded me of my father and his time and death as a result of being 100% disabled from the Army.

At 8:35 pm when she performed live, the dress was short and white (and looked very good on her)

When the concert was interrupted due to weather she'd only performed one song, the duet.

Then they showed the concert from last year, which included BBKing and not her as a filler and was labelled 2011 concert. At 9:30, like had been earlier announced, they started the 2012 concert replay, right down to including the PA announcement from the police warning the audience to leave.

However, when Natalie Cole began performing she was wearing the orange one, which didn't look as good as the first one. This time she performed three numbers. We also noted the crowd was much quieter.

I think she got rained on from the storm coming in and they restarted the concert, merging the footage from before and after... leading to the amazing costume change. The white looked better with a less irregular and fairy hemline.

Wow - I guess I don't feel so bad about my confusion then!

I thought it was completely inappropriate for a Memorial Day concert. JMO whether she looked good or not it was way to short for this type of event.

I admit, I only watched the 2nd showing because I was hoping to get a better look at the white dress. We had other things going on and I need glasses; I'd hoped to get a better look during the replay, which was why we sat through the whole evening of confusion... ;) Someone else here thought it was way too short too. I couldn't find any images online earlier of the white.

Who do performers insist on pushing the limit? Would they think a bikini appropriate? would their mother or aunt think it respectful for a memorial service? Sex sells, but what are you selling at a concert like this?

When we were watching it, Gary Sinese said for everyone to leave, but that the concert would continue so we saw the entire 2012 concert. It was a great concert. So glad they didn't stop it and show the 2011 concert.
