Nasty weather in Peterborough (updated: pictures from Wendy)

We were at a wedding last weekend for friends in Norwood. Glad it wasn't this weekend!! We stayed in a B+B in Peterborough - Wisteria on Gilmour. It is a beautiful old home - does anyone know if that area ("old Peterborough" I think they call it) is in a "bad" area?

Wishing everyone in that area the best.

Some of the area's are really hit & miss. Lot of the old homes in that area didn't do very well. The very worst was downtown , if you saw pictures of people in canoes, that was downtown. That's where Kathy & Ginny were helping clean up. One of the youth missions for street kids was totally flood out, losing mega $$$$, of BRAND NEW stuff, computers for staff etc. and their insurance won't cover flood damage because of the location of the building.

On Friday, I called the library ( which is across from SalvArmy's) and they were closed because of flooding and said their computers had be affected. :( , wonder how bad it was on the books.

Today up & down all the streets, all you could see was ruined, wet carpets, furniture, drywall.

Ptbo- is very hilly, and has two river that run through it. With all the rain both river swelled and the sewers couldn't handle all the run off, which pools in many little valleys all over town...thus backing up into everyone basements. What a MESS!

My daughter is at a summer camp in Bethany. I have heard no news from her. Does anyone know if that area had any problems?

Bethany is fine, I drive by every day for work and no signs of flooding.

So glad to hear that everyone is okay. The damage looks phenomenal on the tv. Thoughts, prayers and good wishes sent to all in distress.

Glad to hear you're all faring well. Best wishes for your community while it rebuilds -- & continues to get rained on!

It's raining again???? Oh boy.....:(

When will this black cloud (low pressure system), move the heck out!!!!!

I've been watching the news everynight. The clean-up is going to take a long time. I feel very badly for the people that still aren't able to go home.
