We are going on our first disney cruise in Nov. and I was wondering has anyone taken a taxi in nassau and gone over to the atlantis hotel and experimented on their own? We would like to do the beach over there and the casino and just check it out on our own. If anyone has done this please let me know how it worked! Thanks:earsgirl:

Atlantis is truely something to see. Just to walk around the ground! I really liked the glass tunnel under the lagoon where you can see the sharks and fish swimming. Beautiful beach too. Make sure you negotiate the cab fare before you get into the car. You might want to check with someone to see what the standard rate is now.

The rate is $4 to $5 per person. Agree on it up front, and make sure that it includes the bridge toll.
You can use the public beach by Atlantis too. All of the beach area is actually public, although you can't use the hotel's chairs.

Thanks for all the advice! Can anyone tell me if they had good experiences at the spa on the wonder and what the prices were like for a massage? Thanks

I went on my first Disney Cruise last November and traveled with a party of 9. It would have cost a fortune for 2 rooms at Atlantis. We decided to take a cab ($5.00 p.p) and went to the Crystal Palace on Cable Beach. It was totally free, they allow cruise guests to use their facilities. (bring your own towel though) The beach was beautiful, plenty of loungers under tiki huts, they had motorized water sports for a small fee, the pool was big and beautiful with a swim up bar and a big water slide, and there was a casino inside the hotel for my brother! We enjoyed our day on the beach almost as much as Castaway Cay. And it was FREE. Afterwards some of the adults negotiated with the cab driver to take us to Atlantis just to poke around and gamble a little bit, then back to the cruise ship for dinner. It was a wonderful and I would do it all over again! My kids loved it!
