Nassau Introduction To Scuba?

Anyone done the introduction to scuba on Nassau? Thinking about signing up myself and my 14 year old son. I had a bad scuba experience in the past and my wife almost died from the terrible instruction we got (long story). Hoping for some good reviews. Thanks! I book my excursions tonight

I have no actual experience in Nassau. However, as a PADI certified Master Diver, I'd highly recommend that you go to a local dive shop to try it out rather than while you are on vacation.

Agree with OKW Lover. I am currently getting certified at a local shop with my DS (11). He did a discover Scuba last year with the same shop.

They give us lots of personal attention (it was just the two of us in our repeat of Pool I a few weeks ago (DS didn't finish the first time because it was too cold)) and I'm confident we will enjoy our diving experience when we sail in August on the Treasure. I've seen too many huge groups on Disney doing the diving thing...so unless it is a small group/private activity, I wouldn't want to risk it.

Good point! Scuba diving is a very risky hobby. It's in the top 5 hazardous activities, just below skydiving. You want to be sure you are getting good, personalized instruction. It could save your life.

I would not try something that risky and unhygienic in a foreign land. Will you at least bring your own breathing apparatus?

I went on a few dives as a teenager an age ago while on vacation and had great experiences. Never brought my own gear back then. I was just curious if anyone had any experience doing this on a Disney cruise vacation with the company they recommend while at Nassau. Thanks!
