Nassau Comfort Suites . . .too good to be true?

It is in the lobby of the coral building (I think that is what it is called). Unfortunately that is further away from the big slides than it used to be.

Not to quibble, but it isn't necessarily further, it just a different spot along the way. You walk a good distance from the CS to Aquaventure, and it would be silly for someone to not do the CS because of the change in the location of wristband distribution.

There's been three places that they've distributed wristbands in the 12+ years I've been visiting Atlantis. Some years its been in the lower area of the Great Hall of Waters, other years in a lower lobby of the Coral Towers, and other years its been near the Coral Tower motor court. All for those places are along the walking path you'd usually take to get from the CS to Aquaventure, just with 30 second deviations.

Okay, well I am not really concerned with who manages it...just that I could redeem our points for it, and I did. Free excursion, yippie!!

Sorry, didn't mean to be pedantic. I mentioned this in the context of reservation agents screwing up a reservation (either a Marriott agent or an Atlantis one, who are usually in a call center in Fort Lauderdale, and may or may not have ever been to the resort). A Marriott agent you get might not understand what you were saying, and might say something was wrong with booking a room and not using it, but on-site Atlantis people are perfectly used to people doing this.

It hasn't been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but Atlantis guests can get their wristbands in many more places. There are towel huts out by the pools, and they give out the bands there. You give them your room key and they print out the bands and they place them on you.

Yes, you can get a key before your room is ready and use that key to enjoy Aquaventure and get a wristband. Name and date printed on it. The towel hut attendants run it through a card reader to pull up your room and get an accurate count of how many guests are registered. You don't have to get all the bands at the same time, but you they won't print out more than are registered in your room.
