Hey all!

Going to Nassau in a few weeks (November) and trying to figure out a nice beach excursion. I've read several threads here so I've done a little research.

I really thought we had figured out a perfect excursion, but it looks like it's not available during our visit. We had read wonderful things about Sandy Toes and the private island getaway and that is exactly what we were hoping for...however, an email response tells me that we are visiting during their annual maintenance period and they aren't doing any trips during that time.

I've also thought about Blue Lagoon Island, but have read it can get pretty crowded at times.

We are two adults going on this trip without our littles and were hoping for some peace and quite. Greatly looking forward to exploring the adult activities on-board and checking out Serenity Bay at Castaway.

Having been to Nassau before (and the Atlantis), I'd like to avoid doing the same again. I was greatly disappointed in our first trip there. I hated being bothered every five seconds about purchasing stuff and/or getting my hair braided. It was quite uncomfortable for us.

Just looking for a clean beach with nice sand and a swimable beach. Some place with a clean restroom and decent food for an afternoon of vegging out.

I'd love to do one of those boat excursions that takes you to Rose Island but they are crazy expensive for just two people. I'm so disappointed we can't do Sandy Toes....Looked into the Sandals day pass but it's $125 per person and that seems a little high for what we have budgeted.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks so much for your time and insight!!! Happy planning! :)

I asked this almost same thing about Nassau and got no response but finally someone here posted that might have more luck looking at the port destination section over on the Cruise Critic message boards so I went over there and gave Been reading alot!! So just passing along the hint!! I had done searches here too and read some posts from awhile back nut I was specifically looking for recent info on Junkanoo beach there, so you might give cruise critic a try if you don't find it here! I've always used cruise critic to read reviews and see pics and joined in on groups for our cruises on other lines but this is our first disney cruise coming up so still figuring out the DIS!

Thanks mevans9066! I greatly appreciate your response. I will definitely check out Cruise Critic!

I've read that many Dis'ers like to stay on the boat at Nassau, so maybe that has something to do with it. Truthfully, that would probably be my first choice as well after a disappointing previous visit to Nassau. But, my husband really wants to figure out a nice beach day...so I'm trying!

Have a happy day!!!

We honeymooned in nassau 16 years ago at Sandals, but we want to show the girls around a bit, we hate to not get off at all! We're looking at the Seaworld Explorer Semi-sub tour or just maybe doing a carriage ride and walking to Junkanoo for a couple hrs. It's such a short port time when we stop there only 7am to noon! We'd love to try Atlantis but for the money not sure we'd get enough time there to make it worth it! Good luck!! Happy cruisin!
