Hi! Which beach day should we plan for Nassau? The blue lagoon? Or Atlantis? (without the slides). Will have our two youngest with us ages 15 and 8. Thank you!!

I haven't tried Atlantis yet but I have tried Blue Lagoon. The 30 minutes boat ride to get there is fun and sometimes a bit bumpy. The island itself is cute. The food was reasonably good (not as good as Castaway Cays Serenity BBQ but good!)... Our favorite beach was not the lagoon but the beach behind the cafeteria but I think they made it a Adult Only VIP beach now...

Thank you for responding! We sail in August. Last time in Nassau, we didn’t leave the ship because our youngest was only 2 and we just wanted to enjoy the ship!!! And now I can’t decide which beach to enjoy. Thank you for your help!

We like Blue Lagoon also, think their food is pretty mediocre. I have not Balmoral, but it seems to get good reviews and I think they also have a pool.

We have done the Atlantis and the Hilton British Colonial. We did Atlantis with slides but kids did not do the slides. We used the beach and the pool area and the not so lazy river. It was fun but crowded like an amusement park. The aquarium is nice too. This last time we did the Hilton it is cheaper and it was a nice relaxing day.

I’m thinking of doing the Hilton for our cruise next spring- seems like a great not too expensive option. My kids are young and will definitely want some pool & beach time. I’m afraid the Atlantis will be too crowded/crazy that time of year.

We have been to Atlantis three times and it is nice but crowded. We will probably stick with the Hilton from now on because it was cheaper and very relaxing. It is not a big beach but big enough. You can watch the ships from the beach and the walk is not far to get there. You get a food and beverage credit with the day pass.

The thing to remember about the Hilton is that there isn't much beyond the beach/pool/food credit. So if you're looking for waterslides et al you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing beach day near the ships then this is the perfect spot for you. Would recommend ordering food early though, as it can take some time to come out.

we've stayed at the HIlton and really enjoyed it. Next time we're in Nassau with DCL we'll do the Hilton Beach Day

We did the one at Atlantis (no slides) and it was really nice. Our kids played on the lagoon side and had a blast, but there is also the beach side that would be fun also. It was closed when we were there due to high winds and choppy water.

We have done beach days at both Atlantis and Blue Lagoon. For us, Blue Lagoon hands down. Atlantis was very hectic where we sat and relaxed the day away at Blue Lagoon.

Can anyone tell me how the Hilton works. Do we reserve a room on our own and check in when we arrive? We are rookies at this

There is no room reservation needed for the Hilton. But here is the booking process for you:

Google “colonial Hilton day pass”. This should bring up several vendors that offer the pass. Prices should all be about the same, so it comes down to selecting whichever vendor feels comfortable to you.

You’ll be asked to input your date of arrival and ship, plus contact information, then you will need to make a deposit.

Once the deposit is confirmed you should get a confirmation email. Print that out and bring it with you to the Hilton, and pay your outstanding balance there.

We did Balmoral Island in May and we loved it. There isn't much to do there besides two pools (ocean water) and the beach/ocean, but we loved it. Relaxing, not too many people at all... and the food was decent/good.

I’m glad to hear that you had a positive experience. We are scheduled for the Dolphin Encounter at Balmoral Island later this summer. I thought I was booking Blue Lagoon through Costco Travel, but when I received the details it noted to take the boat to Balmoral Island. Costco’s description on their web site was very vague. All of the reviews that I found were mostly positive, and similar to Blue Lagoon.

Not too many reviews on here for Balmoral. I know it’s fairly new, and I don’t think too many people know this is an option.

I'm looking for a beach day too, and read some reviews for Balmoral Island that I found by Googling. The ones I read made me reconsider my options.

I watched a youtube on Cabbage Beach, but when you try to compare anything to Castaway Cay, nothing comes close. I would love two days at CC and skip Nassau.
