We are getting ready to book a last minute cruise (ok it is June 29 but for a planner like me...thats last minute!):rotfl:

But without booking, I can't check to see if the port adventures we are wanting are still available. We would like to do a dolphin or sea lion swim or encounter at Atlantis or Blue Lagoon. Anybody have experience with any of the aforementioned??

How about Aquaventure at Atlantis? Was it worth it?

And is there any way for me to check availability PRIOR to booking a cruise?

Thank you!!:upsidedow

we did the sea lions port adventure at blue lagoon and loved it. we have swam with dolphins 2 times prior and really loved the sea lion interaction. haven't swam with dolphins in Nassau so can't help you there. But I recommend the sea lions. I could be wrong but the only way you can check availability is once you book.

We did the Blue Lagoon dolphin encounter years ago and our family loved it, so we opted for the sea lion encounter, but it is now sold out on our cruise date.

We are cruising June 20, here are the excursions that are sold out on our cruise:

Blue Lagoon Sea Lion encounter
Blue Lagoon Dolphin swim but the encounter is not
Atlantis Deep Water Swim & Aquaventure but the Deep water w/ Discover Atlantis is not.

Good Luck!!

Skip Atlantis. We went in this timeframe last year and it took 45 min to get a tube for the slides! I vote for the sealions as well .It's a great time.

last month. They loved it! One of the highlights of our trip. DH and I were observers. We took the ferry over and they gave us a short talk about the dolphins and then took the groups into the water. Each group got some time with the dolphins. They kissed, hugged, danced with the dolphins. The dolphins were very funny. It was alot of laughs.

My kids were the last group to go and we hung around for a few minutes after watching the video that they show right after, hoping that you will buy it, lol. Then, we stuck around just to watch the trainer with the dolphin. The trainer picked my daughter to come back onto the platform to give the dolphin a drink of water. My daughter was ecstatic! That was certainly a treat!

I have no experience with the others but HTH!

Love the recommendations! I booked our trip and then immediately went to check availability for excursions and was so excited to get a Sea Lion encounter at Blue Lagoon. That place looks amazing! And I like how you don't have to wear wetsuits or life vests. Our encounter is at 12:45....can we go earlier and enjoy the beach area beforehand? Sometime we would like to do a dolphin encounter too, but since they are more readily available, it was sea lions for sure. I've never even seen that offered before!:hyper:

Goofy559, how do you stack your tickers back to back like that? I tried putting the URL codes beside each other but it wouldn't work!

I'm doing Atlantis Dolphin Encounter but directly from Atlantis, not DCL.

I picked that one as no one in my group wanted to take more time to go to BL on a ferry, but wanted to stay closer. I think BL said its 2.5-3hrs including ferry time, while Atlantis Encounter was 90 minutes.

Even still, Atlantis Dolphin is cheaper than the DCL price direct, but BL is cheaper still, from what I recall.

I'm going in a week, so I can post my review after that.

That is the same time we have on June 20 w/ the sea lions, I've read here on DIS that if there is room on the earlier boat (9ish) you can go there earlier, but I would ck with guest services when you embark. I've opted instead to walk around Nassau, get a few souvenirs and get a passport stamp since this will be my DD's first time on the island.
