Hello! I have been lurking for a long time, and have finally decided to ask some questions  !

We are taking a cruise in September, and will be stopping in Nassau. I am trying to decide what to do when we get there. I am "intrigued" with the $99 Paradise Resort idea, but not sure what to do.

I have 2 children (4 and 2) who LOVE to swim and love to see aquariums, so naturally, I think this would be a great idea. However, is it hard to get to the resort from the port? If we did the excursion with Disney, it seems like the cost would be more and we wouldn't get to do both the pool stuff and see the aquarium. Am I correct in my thinking?

The other excursion that interests me is the Blackbeard Cay & Stingray adventure. I have some pretty adventurous kids, but my gut tells me that they would be a little hesitant to get in with the stingrays, but who knows?

Any tips? I was thinking the resort thing would be the best way to go- we would get to see those wonderful sea creatures and do some pool stuff, and if the weather was less than desirable we could explore the resort.

Enough babbling,... what is your vote?!

P.S. The information that I have received from this site has been so beneficial. Thanks to everyone for asking and for answering all these questions!! :teeth:

I dont know if this will help any, but we did the Disney Atlantis excursion. People had young kids and they had a great time. The walk from the ship to the ferry boat took about 10 minutes, not really all that far, but you will want umbrella strollers for the kids. I say umbrella because they fold easily on the ferry and for the steps you will encounter later on the aquarium tour.
The ferry ride was pleasant and narrated. We had a short, uphill walk from the dock to the hotel. Actually a nice walk. Once you got to the hotel there were guides waiting for you and they broke you down into small groups. Then they took you inside the hotel for your tour. The aquarium was great. All the windows were large and low enough to the ground that little kids could easily see the fish. Part of the tour takes you out back by the pools where you will have some stairs which means kids out of the strollers for a few minutes. The next viewing area is under a restaurant so a few stairs again. Not too many.
The tour moves quickly, but when it's done you can go through the aquarium over and over again at your own speed once the tour is over. Of course you cant use the pools on this tour. The ferry's going back run about every 35 minutes until 5 or 6 P.M. so no need to rush.
Sorry I cant advise you on the hotel package so you can use the pools too. But I could offer how Disney tour works, maybe that will help your decision.

We were told by the locals when we inquired about going to Atlantis, take a cab..it drops you right at the resort. I think the cab ride may be 5 minutes. The locals advised against the ferry. You can see Atlantis when the ship docks.

We, unfortunately didn't have time to get over there after we finished all our exploring.

If you can get a one day $99 at Atlantis, you should jump all over it IMO. You have access to everything and somewhere to rest especially if it is an all-day at port stop. Would definitely take a cab to Atlantis.
