NASCAR Sports Grille Restaurant Review

Well thats too bad. Makes no sense considering the name of the place.

Is the tour of the daytona track worth it?

Never done the Daytona track tour but I am a nascar fan and if I had the chance to do it I would for the fact its a legendary race track :yay:

I know you are looking for more recent reviews, but we ate there last June and we thought it was the best meal of our trip. I had the rib platter, it had some NASCAR name but I can't remember it. The ribs were good, maybe not the best I've ever had, but good flavor and tender. DS had a shrimp platter, once again I can't remember the name, it was very good. The shrimp were fairly large and came with a beer butter dipping sauce. DH got the chicken tender salad, it was good sized with a lot of chicken and plenty of dressing. I can't remember the sides with our meals but overall we thought the food was good and it wasn't very expensive.

Are you NASCAR fans?? If so, then it is a must do. We have gone. . .dh did the Richard Petty ride along, which he does at every track we go to that offers it. .. . .bought the plaque with dh's pic in the car and drivers suit, took the tour and spent some time in the museum and shop. It was way worth it to us because our entire family are fans. . even the littles. At the time we went, Dale Earnhardt Jr. had won the Daytona 500 that year so his car was displayed. Oh, we also saw the movie they were showing. Basically, we did everything we could and it did not take an entire day, did not break the bank and was a wonderful, relaxing and memorable day. Had Dale Jr. won the 500 this year, we would have been back on our visit in May.

Anyone been here more recently - as in the last couple months? How are the prices? Kids menu - do they have one? Worth going to or not? DH is a big nascar fan.

I see from this post you are fans. . . anyway, check allears.net for the menu. Here's a link http://www.allearsnet.com/uni/menu/men_nas.htm

And here's the children's menu
http://www.allearsnet.com/uni/menu/men_nask.htm

These menus appear to be from March, 2007, but gives you an idea. Doubt if they've changed too much or if prices have drastically changed. There is a menu on their actual website, but don't think it has prices listed.

Here's the link for that

Reliable sources say to get the molten tire desert thing. . . hear it's excellent, but consider sharing.

We have eaten here, but when it was still NASCAR Cafe. It was good, certainly not gourmet, but good. We've not been there since the renovations and it became NASCAR Grille, so might be disappointed if they've taken away all the themeing. DH loved eating with a car hanging over his head :confused3 :confused3 We are going back to check it out.

Yes, we're nascar fans. Even the little guy. Our girls, not so much. Ok - I'll add the cafe to the stop. Figure we'd get burgers or something. The regular entrees are pricey for a place like that. I'd expect that in a fancy restaurant.

Thanks for the reassurance on the speedway tour -- DH wont let us leave FL without going there. Its his only request.

Thanks WWessing for posting the menus. I had checked out their site, but as you said, it didnt have prices listed. At least now I have a ballpark of what it'll cost. Big help.

I ate there yesterday with my brother. The staff and food were excellent. They had races going as well as other sport channels. They have games upstairs most of them are of course Nascar related. I would highly recommend it.

Never been and would like to since my nephew (he's 11) will be with us and is a big NASCAR fan. We'll be in WDW doing princess stuff for his sister during the first part of our vacation and the last 3 days at USO and I figured we do stuff he'd like and I know he would love this. Are they arcade games? Would an 11 yo be able to play, he's got that PS glued to his hand at home so he's pretty good but I know absolutely NOTHING about arcade games (except Pacman, yes, I know, I'm showing my age :lmao: ). Anyway, thanks for any info you can provide. :thumbsup2

I'm not surprised by the downbeat comments in this thread.

I, too, preferred the original version. I have never had problems with the service, but the food has been a major disappointment. The decor, which is quite nice, makes you expect something a lot better.

I also found the Molten Tire a major disappointment.

Of course, restaurants can always retool. Hopefully someone is paying attention to the kind of "real people" reviews the place is getting and noticing how many customers they are getting reletive to other CityWalk eateries. Those are sure signs of problems that can be fixed.

What about the restaurant at the daytona track... anyone eat there? Food good? At least I think I read theres a restaurant or eatery of some kind there??

I don't remember a restaurant. . . other than counter service stuff where you eat on a patio.

Someone else may come along with a different answer. . . and it may be there are more options during an event.

I don't remember a restaurant at the Speedway either. Plenty nearby, tho.

We were there in January. We are also big NASCAR fans and we were very disappointed - there was not much "NASCAR" at all - other than the names of some of the food items! There were some cars outside - that was the best part. The food was nothing to write home about either. There was a kids menu and the prices were comparible to the other restaurants at CityWalk. We did have a friendly waitress but the food was very slow to arrive even though the place was basically empty. I, personally, would not bother going inside the restaurant - there is very little NASCAR there. There are several cars outside belonging to some of the more popular drivers that your DH would probably enjoy seeing.

This is what I saw on the daytonausa site: "lunch at the Budweiser Bistro in the heart of the SPRINT FANZONE"?
