Spare: #48 - Johnson

Let's all hope that Sauter can make it another week without getting in a wreck or cursing...

Good Luck !!
Ginny :cutie:

Hmmm....let's hope this weeks picks are better than last week:

1. Kahne
2. Harvick
3. Stewart
4. Newman
5. Gordon

Spare: Jr.

Guess all that time Jr and Boris Said have spent together teaching each other about driving (Boris teaching Jr about road courses and Jr teaching Boris about super speedways) has turned into a friendship and real respect for one another. They're teaming up :)

Earnhardt Jr. to Drive Corvette at American Le Mans Series Race at Infineon Raceway: #8-Dale Earnhardt, Jr., winner of the 2004 Daytona 500 and one of the biggest stars in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup racing, will bring his skills to a different form of the sport when he drives a Corvette in the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma American Le Mans Series event at Infineon Raceway on July 18. Earnhardt will make a rare foray outside of stock car racing when he joins the General Motors Chevrolet Corvette racing team in the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma, presented by the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa, July 16-18. He will co-drive with veteran road-racer Boris Said in a third Chevrolet Corvette C5-R fielded by Corvette Racing, the car carrying Earnhardt's famous #8.

Most of you know that I enter sweepstakes (especially NASCAR ones) for fun. I found an interesting one tonight, it is especially for Jr fans, specifically FEMALE Jr fans over 18 years old. Win an 8 minute Date with Dale JR at Talladega (sponsored by Taco Bell). Read the rules and the funny thing is you get 5 days/4 nights in Talladega, an 8 minute date with Dale JR but no race tickets. They are giving away 4 dates (and you do get to take a guest so it's a trip for 2) so even the married Jr fans may be interested. Eight minutes is more than most fans would ever manage anywhere, married or single. It's only one entry per person (which I like cause then everyone has the same chance.) It ends on April 10th. Here's the link to the website. To enter without buying a taco salad read the rules, there is a mail in option. http://www.tacobell.com/speed_date/
Yes, I'm going to enter cause even though I'm not a big Jr fan I do like him. And yes, I am married but I'll bring my soon to be 18 year old daughter and let her have the date ;) She'll be the envy of millions of JR fans. The last thing that convinced me to enter is the weekend of the Talladega race is my birthday - so maybe I'll get lucky. Good luck to those who choose to enter.

Hey Tori, that's nice of you to post the link to the contest. If you win can you and your DD have the eight min. date together or just one of you. Can I give the date to my DH? He's a big Jr. fan but he'd kill me for saying that. :duck:
Anyway, if you think about it, you can do alot in 8 min.'s. ;)

The website for the date says "While Males are not eligible to enter, they may attend the speed date as a "third wheel" or guest of a winner" so I'm going to assume that if I won and got the date my daughter would be the third wheel but technically I'd be the chaparone cause I'm sure he'd pay more attention to her (she is really cute) ;)

The sweepstakes is posted on "The Pit Board" which is a site totally devoted to Jr so I'm sure there will be lots of young teenage girls entering their moms (or dads) in this sweepstakes hoping they can go. The chances of winning are really relatively slim but one thing I did learn when I first started entering is if you don't enter you can't win at all.

And yes, 8 minutes is a lot of time when you consider that at most meet and greets you get about 10-30 seconds to say hi, take a picture and get an autograph ;)

Tori,
My hubby forwarded the link to me...I'm not sure if I should be excited (a date with two cute guys) or offended (hubby couldn't possibly want me to win, so he could meet Jr and get his diecast cars signed...could he??).:scratchin

Qualifying starts in approximately 25 minutes. Are those the updates you want?

I thought he was listening to the Busch qualifying...but he said that it wasn't on XM... shucks.

As for Nextel Cup qualifying...Elliott's currently got the best time. Yippee!!!

Ginny

Sadler had a good time but Kahne did him better and got the pole. Even Jr did, qualifying on the outiside pole. So that 2 poles for Kahne and 2 for Newman (Biffle had the other) and 2 races for Kenseth and 2 for Jr ....if this keeps up the Bud Shoot out and the NEXTEL All Star Races are only going to have about 10-15 drivers each. It needs to end now! Someone else has to win this weekend - Gordon of course but I'll settle for any driver who isn't Kenseth or Earnhardt. Sorry guys but they have to share the wealth (wins)!

In case anyone hasn't seen the lineup for this weekends race, here ya go:

Missed qualifying, also missed posting my picks.
Which is probably for the best beins how I was at the bottom of the ladder last week.:(

COME ON RUSTY!! Please Please win this weekend!;)

OH NO...Poor Mickey!!:( I really was hoping he had a better run this week. It's got to get better for him soon.

Congrats to Jimmie Johnson and his fans!

Congrats to Fire 14 - her second win of the year!!

Rotten day to be a Gordon fan in the NASCAR chat room, those people can be so rude  Once Gordon was out I was cheering for anyone but Kenseth or JR (like I said share the wins!) Was really hoping for Busch even though a lot of people don't like him, I think he is maturing. Can't say the end of the race disappointed me cause it was a different driver who won. Here's how we all did, special personal thanks to Adam ;)
