Editted because I used the Unofficial results (my bad) and NASCAR changed some finishing positions. Skinner was penalized for going below the yellow line and was moved from 5 to 15th. Currenlty they are reviewing a problem with Martin's car so...I'm going to wait until NASCAR releases the official win list. (Gina I'm sorry I missed you the first time around I also missed RWDodge2 so you are now both on the spreadsheet)

It was an awesome race. What a finish. Congrats to the 88 fans, last time DJ won the Bud Shoot Out he went on to win the Daytona 500 (he did this 2 times) so keep that in mind for next weeks picks Boris said did okay, finishing 11th in his first run.

I'll post a new thread on Sunday for picks for the Daytona 500. The running order is determined by the results of the Gatorade 125 races that are run on Thursday so picks must be in early this week - Thursday before the 125 races. There is qualifying tomorrow on NBC but that ony determines the pole winner and which one of the two 125 races the drivers participate in.

Thanks for explaining that, ToriLammy. I was getting confused hearing them talk about qualifying today.

Okay here are the official results, they did penalize Skinner for going below the yellow line to gain position, moving him from 5th to 15th. So every driver between 5th and 15th moved up a spot (meaning Boris Said got a top 10 finish - so cool). It really didn't affect the results I prematurely posted last night.

The winner of this week's game is MelindaKiah. Congrat Melinda. This is Melinda's 2nd time playing and she's won both time she played. Melinda I hope you have signed up for the Bud Game cause you either really know your NASCAR or are really lucky Here's how we all lined up:

So, that's how the practice game went. I did learn a few lessons, like make sure you have everyone's picks (Sorry Momof2OH and RW2Dodge) and wait until NASCAR makes the finishing order official. My spreadsheet worked well, just plug in the finishes and it does the math for me, I like that (last year I did it all manually, didn't even use a calculator). I also have it set up so I'll have a list of everyone's finishes so we will know who the overall winner is come Nov.

I'll post a completely new thread each week so watch for it and help me keep it up on the front page so we can get more players involved (Hey Dan Murphy - didn't know you were a NASCAR Fan - feel free to jump in and join our little friendly competition). A few regulars didn't post their picks - please make sure you do next week - you were missed this week.

I enjoyed the Shootout. I was happy to see DJ in Victory Lane. Poor Jr. so close. I'm not a big Roush fan so I wasn't to thrilled to see Biffle take the pole, oh well.

It's very nice seeing Dan Murphy on our NASCAR thread. Dan, I hope you play our game this season. We have alot of fun talking about NASCAR here.
