Narcosses vs. The Wave

We only have three nights for our upcoming trip, one of which will be at Fulton's, another eating around the world at the F&W festival, and the the third is up in the air. I'm debating between the above two, any opinions? We are going to MNSSHP that night, so I want to stay near the MK area, but don't want to eat in MK. (We have dined at Citricos & California Grill in the past, & would like to try somewhere new).

We've never eaten at the Wave (although we have a reservation for our upcoming trip 8/4/11). We have however eaten at Narcossee's and loved it. It's a wonderful restaurant right on the lake across from MK. Viewing your post I see that you ate at California Grill. The food at Narcossee's is on par with California Grill. You can also view the fireworks from the deck outside the restaurant (although not the spectacular view you get from California Grill). My wife and I ate there on our adult trip only this past October (there like you for 4 days for the F&W fest). It was very romantic.

I would eat at the Wave since you're going to MNSSHP. Narcoossees is a more relaxed meal, and I wouldn't want to rush through it to get to the party. I wouldn't really want to rush through the Wave either, but it is more casual then Narcoossees.

I would not consider either of the 2 restaurants to be exactly on par with the California Grill or Citricos. That's not to say the Wave or Narcoosies are bad, they are just not quite the same experience (IMO).

I would pick Narcoosies over the Wave. Although it can be quite loud during peak times, I think the food, location and decor are all nicer. If you book later in the evening you could catch the water pageant (a personal favorite) or the fireworks at the MK.

Did you check out the menus for both restaurants to see what is more appealing to your group?

Whichever you decide - enjoy your trip!

I would pick Narcoossee's, which is currently my fourth favorite signature (behind Artist Point, California Grill, and Jiko). The view of the lagoon is beautiful (even if you don't stay for the fireworks), and I really enjoyed the crab-crusted flounder. Plus, many people rave about the crab cake, calamari, and almond-crusted cheesecake.

Not a big fan of The Wave. The service was erratic (received our entrees while still eating appetizers), and I received a bad piece of fish there. I think it's one of the better 1-credit locations, but my experiences there haven't been great. Plus, the atmosphere is what you'd expect if you were having dinner in an orange box with no windows. Some people think it's cool, but it's not my favorite.

DH and I ate at both of these restaurants last May and both were delicious. But we really liked The Wave and will be eating there again in October. If you like seafood Narcoosee's is a really good choice but we preferred the Wave.

Its hard to compare the two but i would pick narcossees hands down. The wave is different and my meal wasnt bad there but I'm in no rush to go back. On the other hand I absolutely love narcossees and make sure to go there everytime and on top of everything, theres a great view.

IMO - If your paying for MNSSHP I'd want to be there for it, not at dinner. So I would just eat CS that night, and maybe do a TS for lunch. If Narcoossee's serves lunch, that would be my pick. If not, I'd choose the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch.
