Narcoossee's

Been to Narcoossee's a couple times and really enjoyed it both times. Considering going again for a graduation dinner with a party of 6. Have previously and plan in future to pay OOP with TiW discount. We've always had a window table before when we are a smaller party. Are any of the window tables suitable for larger parties? Can non-window tables see the castle and fireworks? If not all tables have a good view, do people in the middle of a meal leave the table to go out on the balcony/porch area that does have a view? And finally, if you are finished eating just before fireworks; do they rush the bill to get you out or leave you to see the fireworks then bring the bill? Just wanting to know what to expect. TIA

We have dined at more than 50% of the table restaurants on Disney property and this is our favorite. We go every visit, which is about twice a year.
Great service (Amer is the best), fantastic food, great ambience. LOVE IT!

We have been going to Narcoossees every trip for many years. We obviously really like it. We have routinely had good meals and service.(Hope I am not cursing myself!) But as stated above everyone's choices are subjective. Bad day or off night can influence a persons experience. We have gone to California Grill twice. First time was bad but we thought try one more time. Second time was just as bad. We do not use the dining plan so cannot vouch for the 2 credit value. The almond crusted cheesecake is worth it to us!

We had dinner at Narcoossees in May for the first time. The food was very good, but each course took forever to get to our table. Our server was not the best, never around and when he did show up he asked about the food and without waiting for an answer from us, disappeared again. Watched him do this to other tables as well. We have been to Hollywood Brown Derby and California Grill many times and these two restaurants consistantly provide exceptional food and great service. When you dine out at WDW and are paying a good price (OOP) for your dinner, you want the evening to be something special. We did not get that special feeling at Narcoossees. Probably a bad night in the kitchen and with the service, but I doubt we will go back.

I am also interested to see why people like this place. We have never been, and the food to me doesn't look interesting to me. It looks kind of like plain, banquet type food, meat and potatoes. It's only one of 2 signatures in Disney we have never been. Every time I think of making a reservation I take a look on trip advisor and the food looks boring and I cancel it, but people seem to love it.

I'm wondering if people love it because of the prior "surf and turf" option, lobster and steak that was covered on the dining plan. A lot of times you'll see tons of rave reviews because people could get lobster with 2 dining credits, however they just changed it. And the fact that there are fireworks.

I wonder if people would give it as good reviews if they were not on the dining plan, and paying strictly out of pocket, and no fireworks...??? I'm very curious. Or if the surf and turf was not on the menu. I can get a plain steak and lobster with green beans at home. I want something a little more unique. We have reservations this trip at Jiko, Monsieur Paul, and California Grill, but I'd be up for changing Cali Grill to Narcoossee's if people actually rave about something other than the surf and turf, and cheesy mashed potatoes.

We really like Narrcoosses and 90% of our paty will never order that surf and turf. The fact that it was a good value on the DDP is part of the draw, but that factor into most people's decisions when they use the DDP.

My family enjoys a "basic" meat and potatoes meal that is well done, and at Narcoossees every time our meal was well seasoned, hot and delicious. Our server rocked as well, and we tend to get him each time.

We like Narcoossees. The filet is one of the best on property IMO, and the desserts, which we've made a special trip to Narcoossees for before are amazing!

We love It there!!! It's not just the atmosphere. They had several unique dishes while we were there and the wine list is great. Gently lapping water, and delicious foodie friendly finds!

I find it interesting that several people have commented on the slow service. I haven't been to Narcoossee's yet (we have ADRs for Oct.), but I expect and desire a slower paced meal when dining at the signatures.

As a Disneylander, I have l dined numerous times at Napa Rose and Carthay Circle, and dinner has never been shorter than a 90 minute affairs even if you are having only 1-2 courses, and at least 2 hours if you are having appetizer, entree and dessert.

We ate at Narcoossee's on Feb 11th. We have been there prior and had a wonderful experience but they have changed the menu (no surf and turf) as of Feb 1st. We had slow service same as DisneyWishes14. When we inquired about our meal our service indicated that everyone ordered the Lobster so prep was taking a while. When it finally did come it was difficult to cut and chew, almost rubbery.

Based on the less than stellar service and poor food quality we will not be returning any time soon.
I'm not sure what you mean by "no surf and turf."

It is still on the menu. In fact, my husband and I plan on ordering at least one order when we go in November.

It is on the menu but it is no longer a duo on teh DDP. If you want the lobster tail it is considered an add on.

Which means you have to pay for it. Rather than getting it for just two credits on the dinning plan.

Not an issue for us. Not only are we not on the plan, we wouldn't expect Disney to include on the plan a dish that is $75.

Oh but they did, and this made Narcoosses a vey good value on the DDP. One of the few signature restaurants that did nto need a calculator if you were a suf and turf lover.

My DDIL loves crab legs so we paid for those as an add on, so if we want the lobster we will pay for that as well, but I will say I loved that filet and tail! One of the few places I actually will order lobster, it was vey good.

Yes, but like all things like that, Disney put a stop to it.

Just like having to use a credit card to hold a reservation. Or having to prepay for some PPO reservations.

The item (or opportunity) is still there you just have to pay for it.

Right. WHen it was offered as an entire entree, I saw nothing wrong wth anyone, including myself ordering it. IT is not on the menu as an enter any longer, so if I want it I will order it. Or, since we are on the DxDDP probably just Order one meal, the Lobster or cab legs, and split the appetizers entree and dessert.
