Narcoossee's????

Ok so being from NH and about 20 minutes from the Maine border I'm used to eating (as far as I'm concerned) the best seafood on the planet. A few years ago while visiting our DSIL and his DW, she took us to a restaurant claiming to serve Maine Lobster :confused3.... She spent lots of time telling us how wonderful it was!!!! I don't know what it was but Maine Lobster it was not!!!!:scared1: Does anyone know if that will be the case with Narcosee's??? Being a New Englander will I be disappointed ordering seafood at this restaurant?

I understand what you mean about ordering seafood and being disappointed because you are from NE. We are from SE Houston, and can go to the fish markets and buy it as it's coming off the boat.

That said, my DH and I love Narcoossee's for dinner. We usually get the surf & turf and find it's more intimate than something like Cali Grill. We've had excellent service both times we've been there. If you would like to try good seafood on property - try the Flying Fish over at the Boardwalk.

We just had the whole lobster at Narcoosees a few weeks ago and it says it is a Maine lobster and then describes it as being a rubbery texture. I prefer Maine lobsters and I wasn't thrilled with what I got there. My DH didn't like it at all, but then it could have been the night.

We loved Narcoossee's many years back but in recent years we noticed the food quality has gone down hill.

If you're comparing it to NE seafood/Maine lobsters I bet you'll be disappointed. If you go with no expectations, then it should be ok.

It's been a while since we've been there because it has to take a lot of good feedback to get us back there again. We much prefer the fish at FF, unfortunately no lobster there. Not an easy find at WDW. Not sure how it is at Fulton's these days. Good luck!;)

Being from MA Ive had Maine lobster before and I love the lobster at Narcoossees! One of my favorite restaurants. You will not be disappointed.

When they serve the whole Maine lobster, if it comes with the bands on the claws, the bands should say MAINE. This is a state program promoting local seafood.
Have a great trip.:cool1:

OP : we ate there last year and as someone who has had some of the best seafood in the country(Maine-lobsterbake on the beach; SF-ciopinno; NOlA-anything; Hawaii-Mahi, pink snapper etc) You shouldn't be disappointed. We di dnt have the lobster because we cook lobster at home. The food was awesome. If you want extra special Magic. Make your ADR for 1 hour before wishes starts the dim the lights and have the music going.....:cool1::cool1:

I grew up in RI and live in PA now so I know what you mean about NE seafood:cool1: I used to buy my seafood off the dock and cook it within the hour mmmmmmm.

We ate a Narcoossees last May and it was some of the best seafood we have had in years. If you are thinking Red Lobster which is only passable you will not be disappointed here. That being said because it is shipped from Maine it will not have that right off the boat flavor you are used to. It will be very good but do not expect it to be the best lobster you have ever had because you have a very fine pallet for these things. Nothing compares to eating seafood right off the dock.

Being from Maine, we don't order lobster outside of New England. Sorry...just don't want to pay 3-4x more than we can pay here and be disappointed.

We had dinner reservations last year for our anniversary and were very disappointed with Narcoosies.
We had to wait about an hour for a table although there were many empty tables. The waiter we had was the worst. He asked "whadya havin."
We ordered Lobster. The table next to us was seated about 20 minutes after us. They also ordered Lobster and were served promptly. We waited about 25 minutes for our Lobsters and they were finally brought to us by the hostess and they were stone cold.
The lobster was nothing special...for the price we paid and the terrible service we will not be returning.
We were so disgusted we wrote a letter to the restaurant manager and to date have not had a reply.
Needless to say this was the worst meal of our trip and we will never dine at Narcoosies again.:furious:mad:

That's what I was thinking. I;d frather wait a few months until I'm in Maine and enjoy the most delicious lobster ever for $5 a pound!

My wife and I have eaten at Narcoossee's many times now and have permanently added it to our rotation of restaurants at Disney. We have had nothing but great meals and fantastic service. Also if you go around 8:45 - 9:00 pm you get to see the electric light floating parade :thumbsup2

Our family was just there at the end of January. We had a pretty good meal but not as good as Jiko's. My son and husband had the lobster and it was just ok. I also had a taste and was not impressed. Of course, we have vacationed in Maine and there is nothing like Maine Lobster. Have a great trip.

Since you can get great lobster all the time why not try something else at Narcoossee's? I'm not a lobster lover so I went with filet mignon and it was fantastic! DH got the surf and turf and was happy with it. MIL got the whole Maine lobster and loved it.

eta: Dh just chimed in that the Maine lobster in flown in daily. The surf and turf tail is frozen and from the Caribbean. He's the one with the great memory. lol
