One thing about Disney, is they have a great ability to command a price for quality that doesn't match. Not saying food is bad on property, but the price is a little disconnected, and this is coming from someone who eats on property often.
Without a doubt.... Bluezoo
-Not on the DDP so there are usually less small children there, especially at night, we love sitting at the bar or dining at Bluezoo when the kids are with a sitter
- Outstanding food!
We love Narcoosses too but this to us is a nice 'family' signature restaurant. We will be bringing our children there for dinner in August-an earlier reservation of course
We do agree that there is a big disconnect between WDW prices and quality of food (we also visit often so we notice it).
We ate at Blue Zoo for the first time about a week ago and it was fantastic. The best meal of our two week (many signature restaurant) trip. Two of our party did not care for seafood (me being one) and still found it to be a top notch restaurant.
BlueZoo has always been wonderful for us; service, atmosphere, food. It's been our running fave since it opened. It's a big bonus to us that it's NOT on the DDP. Food quality is still great & it has a nice adult atomosphere.
Narcoossees was the worst meal of our last trip. I don't know how you can kill a steamed lobster that badly, but they managed it. I did have a decent meal there once years ago, but either it was a fluke or it has gone downhill. Red Lobster is an accurate description of our last meal there.
Wow! Just had my birthday at Narcoossees last week and it was wonderful, and I HATE Red Lobster! Have not dined at Bluezoo so I cannot compare the two, but I will dine at Narcoossees again. I had the Artisanal Cheeses (Humboldt Fog, Cashel Irish Blue, and Tete De Moine), the Cajun-spiced Florida Tripletail, with Maytag Grits, Haricots Verts, and Mango Barbeque Glaze, and a Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse.
Restaurant was quiet and it was a nice viewing of Wishes. They presented me with a personalized keepsake menu and actually knew how to prepare a proper lime daiquiri (unlike the mixmaster at WL who said she usually used lime flavored vodka but could use rum).
Shula's is very nice and has good steaks, but it is very much a guy's place. Dark wood, football photos all over - a real man's steak house. Blue Zoo is lovely, more sophisticated and wonderful food and service.
What type clothing is appropriate for Blue Zoo in the evening?
We wore slacks and blouses, and the guys wore polo shirts and short sleeved, collared shirts. The same you would wear to Cal Grill or somewhere like that.
I have never been to blue zoo but Narcoossees is my fav. restaurant on property....and I hate red lobster...Narcoossees is way better than red lobster. almond crusted cheesecake and filet = YUM!
Add me to the Blue Zoo camp!! As for what you need to wear, same as all the other Signature restaurants--no swimsuits, no torn cloths, no tank tops on men, no t-shirts with offensive logo.
