I haven't been to either Narcoossee's or Yak and Yeti, but was thinking of trying one. They are pretty different types of restaurants and will dictate what we do that day. It'll be a part of my off site stay so either we go to Magic Kingdom and have dinner at 5pm and then drive 3 hours home or we go to Animal Kingdom and have late lunch/early dinner at 4:15 then drive home. The food looks great at both.

Would Narcoossee's be okay to go straight from the park to? Or is it somewhere we'd need to change into nicer clothes?

They are both good restaurants. Yak & Yeti is one of my favorite 1TS restaurants and Narcoossee's is one of my favorite signature restaurants and one I have been to many times (though last time it was a bit off). As you said, they are pretty different restaurants. But with that said and money is not an issue, I would recommend Narcoossee's every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The 45 minute difference in times IMO is not really a big deal. But I will say that you will spend at least two hours at Narcoossee's and perhaps an hour or so at Yak & Yeti if that will matter for the drive. Still, I'd recommend Narcoossee's.

I would stick to yny and keep t simple before a 3 hour drive home. The nice thing about your AK choice is you can eat any time

I also would not be comfortable going to a signature straight from a park, although many do

Man, I love them both. I think I would probably go with Yak and Yeti because it's (1) a little earlier (2) easier to get to/leave from with parking and (3) dinner will be shorter. Join Landry's Select Club for "priority seating" so you don't need an ADR.

Narcoossee's is my favorite of the Signature restaurants and one of my favorite places in WDW, so that's where I would opt to have the final meal of my trip (that's what my family often does - has dinner at Narcoossee's on the night before we fly home). I agree that they're two very different meals...Yak & Yeti is very casual (I thought the food was fine; the service was a bit hit-or-miss) and can be finished in about an hour. Narcoossee's is a longer meal (~2 hours) and is somewhat dressier. Given that Narcoossee's has the later start time and longer meal length (usually), you'll be getting home later if you dine at Narcoossee's (not sure if that really matters).

In terms of dress...I've seen a whole range of attire at Narcoossee's. Everything from theme park clothes (albeit, dressier/nicer theme park clothes) to date night dress...although it does seem to get dressier as the evening progresses.

I like both and normally would recommend Narrcoossees owner Yak & Yeti. But given you have a 3 hour ride after dinner I would go with Yak& Yeti

I prefer Narcoossee. Both are good options, but I just prefer the one over the other. We don't go super fancy at Narcoossee but it's more of a collared shirt, golf shorts at least type of place versus Yak & Yeti where you can go in with wet clothes from the river rapids.

I feel the same way about Narcoosees, it's always our best meal / dining experience at WDW, and we eat there the last night of our trip as well. It would get my vote. My husband wears shorts at Narcoosees and a polo or nicer T shirt and is fine, we usually eat there at 5:30ish, so it's not super-dressy at that time in my experience. (I have never been to Y & Y, but have friends who have who enjoy it and have said positive things about eating there.)

Thanks for all the helpful replies! Still undecided but this really helps

Narcoossee's has superior food and atmosphere, but I would want to "clean up" before dining there. My opinion: Yak and Yeti is WAY overrated - I did not care for the food at all and there was nothing special about the atmosphere. BUT, with your schedule, it would be much more practical to dine at a park.
