Narcoossee's or CA Grill for Wishes viewing?

Same experience at both? Music piped in, same window viewing, or only certain tables?

The music is piped in to both restaurants, but at California Grill you can go out to the platform and watch Wishes outside if your table is far away from the windows.

I've had a window table at both restaurants during Wishes, and my choice for watching it from a table would be at Narcoossee's (watching fireworks from ground level is better than watching them from above, IMO). Especially if I could get the great table we had last time!

But for a guaranteed good view, I'd go for California Grill. That way, no matter where you end up in the restaurant, you can get up and join the other diners outside for a worthwhile view of the fireworks.

I would go with California Grill.
they have an observation deck if your table is not by the window.

I would go to the place where the menu is more to your liking. You are not guaranteed a window seat at either place. We've eaten at Ca Grill about 20 times and have only had a window table on the castle side once. The 3 times at Narcoosees, no window table. You can go out on the observation platform at Ca Grill, you can also step outside onto the dock area at Narcoosees to watch.

what's the best time range to get an ADR at Calif Grill to be able to be there during Wishes?

When I made my ADR's the CM suggested between 2 hours and an 1 1/2 hours ahead of time (when Wishes is schedualed)

Two hours ahead is going to assume that you are planning to have an appetizer, entree and dessert. We usually book our ADR's for one hour before the viewing and it usually times out where we watch the fireworks between the entree and the dessert. That way, when we finish with dessert, we are free to leave and don't have to sit there waiting for the show. The wait staff is very good about trying to time your food arrival so that you do not have to leave a half eaten course to go out on the observation deck.

Although those are my two absolute favorite restaurants at Disney (or anywhere for that matter), gotta go with CA Grill. Here's why: it's not only the view of Wishes!, but it's an amazing view you get to see of the park at night, of the GF, and the Water Pagaent. The only upside to Narcoossee's is that it's a little quieter and more intimate.
