Ok gang I made reses on our 1st night and am wondering what is your recommendations, favorite app, entree, desert? What if any restrictions are on the DDP…………….

THANKS!

Are you on the delux ddp or the basic ddp. With the delux ddp the appetizer is included. With the basic ddp it is not.

After that disclaimer, I wanted to say we eat here often (about 3-4 times a year). No exclusions. We've done the surf and turf. I prefer the filet myself. The appetizers are wonderful, whether it's the crab cakes or the butterfly shrimp. And for desert I always get the almond crusted cheesecake. We are eating here on our anniversary next month!

Congrads!!!

We are on the basic, but will be paying OOP for the appetizers on this trip as my family loves them! Crab cakes sound awesome!

We have had the surf & turf, almond crusted cheesecake (definitely one of the best desserts at WDW), crab cakes and seafood bisque. We loved it so much we're going back this year!

DH and I order the same thing every time we go!

I get the seafood chowder, whole lobster and almond crusted cheesecake.
DH gets the crab cake appetizer, surf and turf and usually a sorbet or espresso for dessert!

We pay oop for the appetizers, so worth it.

We'll be back in July - kids are going to the Neverland club and we will have one meal in peace!

We have eaten there several times ourselves. It is one of our favorite restaurants. I can not remember ever having a bad entree there and i do not remember all of the entrees I have tried. But, in case you couldn't tell from all of the other posts...THE ALMOND CRUSTED CHEESECAKE is a must have!

I have been known to order an extra one to go and have it for breakfast the next morning. YES, it is THAT good! Darn, now I want some! :lmao:

We enjoyed our meal there on the DxDP. I think I got caught up in "getting my money's worth" and ordered the whole lobster. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't really anything special. Next time, I want to try something where the chef's have a chance to really put their stamp on it. As I looked around the restaurant, I saw a lot of great looking dishes. I want to experiment a bit next time.
Enjoy your meal. We did love watching the fireworks and the water parade. That made the evening so memorable.

I understand your thoughts on "getting my $$ worth" but for me its about the different dishes I can try, as I can have lobster almost anywhere, sure its a rare treat for me but I love reading the menus then asking whats popular and go from there. We are NOT going to max the DDP and just enjoy.......

We love Narcoossee's...we ate there a couple of times but my husband favorite app are the crab cakes and I enjoyed fried Calamari. The first time my Husband got Maine Lobster and I got the surf&turf...I tasted his lobster and wished I got it...but my turf was really good. Next time I got the Maine Lobster and it melted in my mouth. My husband got the salmon and he enjoyed. The next time my husband got the special and loved it but I forgot what he ate but I got the Maine Lobster again. For dessert my husband got the cheese sampler first time and he enjoyed, second time he got sorbet b/c he was full but he liked it and last time he was too full and he had a cake delivered in our room. I enjoyed the gelato sampler, Inspired by The Year of a Million Dreams - Almond-crusted Cheesecake and Warm Chocolate Almond Gateau. This is my husband favorite restaurant in Disney.
enjoy:yay:

Can I ask what time you need to eat there to see the fireworks and water parade?

we will be eating there this trip..I am considering getting the lobster, should I reconsider this?

I love the Maine Lobster and I got it 2x. The first time I got the surf and turf and I wasn't happy with the lobster tail so I traded it to my husband Maine Lobster and then after our first time dinner there and ate my husband Maine Lobster...he went to a CM in the front and asked if we can get reservation for the next night so I can get the Maine Lobster again.

Narcoossees is one of my faves at Disney!!

appetizer- crab cakes
entree- I enjoy the lobster!
dessert- the almond crusted cheesecake is to die for! :worship:

Whatever you have, I'm sure you'll love! Enjoy :wizard:

We ate here as a surprise special treat two weeks ago.

I got the Lobster bisque, we both got the lobster, and had the sorbet and Key Lime Creme Brule for desert. YUM!

I've never tried Narcooses nor I have I even considered it! You guys have made me think about it for December.

Is it 2 points on the regular DDP?

We have our favorites that we don't think we can skip any year we go. I'd love to try some new places this trip!

The first time I got the surf and turf and I wasn't happy with the lobster tail .

I wanted to comment on this. This happened to me and my DH. We both ordered the surf and turf (because we wanted to maximize the DxDDP). The turf was excellent but the lobster tail had no taste to it at all. We told the server this and she told us that it was the only thing on the menu that is prepared from frozen not fresh. The whole lobster is fresh but the tails are frrozen. I was very disappointed and wished I had ordered a chef speciality. The bisque was really good. But the meal left us completely unsatisfied. It is going to be a while until I can convince my DH to try it again.

Just my $.02.

As plain as it is, I really love the hearts of romain caesar salad for the app.

I love the filet but I am a red meat girl, if there's seasoning on it of some sort and it's not over cooked (I like medium or medium rare) then I am happy.

You MUST get the almond crusted cheesecake. I don't even like nuts but this is one of my favorite desserts ever!

We ate at Narcoossees last week to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time to eat there, but it now is a must-do restaurant for every trip. I had the Alaskan halibut encrusted with crab cakes, and it was amazing. DH had surf and turf and liked it but decided my meal was better than his. Grilled asparagus came with both meals, and I had roasted fingerling potatoes. I don't remember what came with his except asparagus. The sourdough bread was extremely good, and the almond crusted cheesecake was fantastic....we took one serving back to our resort and split it for breakfast the next day. We split a serving of strawberry shortcake after dinner, and it was very good, too. This now is our favorite restaurant anywhere. The service was great, they gave us champagne and strawberries since it was our anniversary, we had a view of Cinderella's castle from our table, and the food is superb. We had an 8:10 reservation, and we saw the water parade while we were eating. We left before the fireworks show at 10:00, but we could have had a wonderful view if we had stayed.

If any one is interested the Almond crusted cheescake recipe is posted on allears.net under DINING.(WDW recipes):thumbsup2
