Hi. Just decided to have a quick mom's getaway the second weekend in December and called regarding ADRs and almost everything is booked, which sort of surprised me given the time of year (although I guess it's getting busier). The one place I could get is Narcoose's. Any thoughts. The photos look nice, but I haven't heard much about the food.

Thanks.

We love Narcoossee's. Each time we have been, the food was very good, good wines, service was excellent and atmosphere great. Expensive (like many things at DW). But we always have a great time there. It also has a great view of the lagoon, as well as Wishes and the Water Pageant (if you are there at those times).

Thanks. It looks really nice--from the outside.:goodvibes

Ooooo...lucky you!! It's SO GOOD, enjoy, you'll love it!!! We haven't been since our honeymoon (8 years ago now..sniff, sniff!) but if they still have the butternut sqaush soup, it was to die for!! :lovestruc

We went on our last trip. We had an awesome view of the Wishes and they pipe in the music. It's awesome. We had the Lobster and for desert we had the cheesecake. Delish. Great service. Gorgeous surroundings.:wizard:

I'm glad to read this thread. DS picked this restaurant last winter for our upcoming trip based on a DIS thread that said the best seafood could be found at this restaurant. :goodvibes

love it there!

we've been for dinner twice: crab cakes, lobster, almond crusted cheesecake, and will be there again this december!

it's a beautiful restaurant, gorgeous views - service is excellent, the food is awesome, especially that cheesecake! :lovestruc

My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary there this past summer. It was absolutely the best meal ever! We had the Surf & Turf and the almond crusted cheesecake. My lobster melted in my mouth. DH's was a bit tougher, but still pretty good. The cheesecake was incredible!

I had the best crab cake I've ever had in my life (including Maryland ones...) there in December of 2006. YUM! It was a great dinner. Not cheap but worth it.

We ate at Narcoose's twice this month (Deluxe Dining). We did not care for the food. I had steak one time and chicken the next time, DH had seafood both times.

Our favorite restaurant was Yachtsman Steakhouse hands down! :woohoo:

Hand's down, for the money and so called status this is the single worst place for service and food on WDW property. There is a reason why it is available during busy times.

:thumbsup2 This was one of our favorite resturaunts on vacation at WDW. They found out it was our anniversary and gave us special menus plus they sat us along the windows where we had a wonderful view of the fireworks over the lagoon. Our server even brought us a Happy Anniversary cake for dessert with these delicious and beautiful white chocolate flowers and butterflies (on the house). It was amazing. Our 5 month old at the time slept through the entire dinner in our laps!!! The ambiance is amazing and food is fantastic. I liked the dueling taretar (sp.???) Anyhow you will not be dissapointed.

Pixiedusted: You weren't serious about the crabcakes??? I had them once--tasty-sweet, but not even remotely comparable to the real thing.
Anyway--Narcoossee's is a nice restaurant. In fact, we'll be dining there again next week.

DH said he wanted a whole lobster when he went to Disney so I booked this restaurant. He absolutely loved it! In fact, he kept telling everyone about this restaurant when we got back home. And they showed us a dessert tray that was unbelievable. Each dessert was a work of art. It was hard to pick one out they looked so good. Service was good for us as well. We'd absolutely dine here again!

We just ate there for the first time a few nights ago. We loved it. The food and service was outstanding. I got the surf and turf but substituted the "turf" for scallops. They were delicious. I also had the crab cakes and they were good (not sure if they were the best) but better than what I can get in OH :). We had the almond cheesecake and it was really good. We would return.

Are you talking about Narcoose's or Yachtsman Steakhouse?

We ate there this past time in Sept and I had the Surf and Turf. The steak was sweep me off my feet fabulous. But the rest of the plate was not my cup of tea. I am from Maine so in my mind there is no other lobster except Maine Lobster so that was what I was expecting. It turned out to be some sort of striped "lobster" that tasted terrible. I also didn't like the potatoes au gratin. I will be going back but I will stick with the steak.
