Narcooses bad???

I've been reading a few too many not so pleasant comments about Narcooses on the DIS lately. We just got an ADR there and were so excited, but now i'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice.

Does anyone enjoy this place? We are having it as a bday dinner for my sister so I want it to be special; we even timed it around wishes.

I would not worry at all!! Remember people have extremely different tastes. What may seem exotic and unusual to one person may be perfectly flavored for another person. Check out the menu. Ask the server questions.

For example, we love Chefs de France and many folks hate it. We've eaten there many times and have never been disappointed.

We haven't been there this year but from our past trip we have loved it and its one of my favorite restaurants. The food is good, service is wonderful and location is great. My husband usually gets the special and I get the Maine Lobster. Love the crab cakes and the dessert too. Enjoy. I love Chefs de France too (my husband favorite next to Jiko)

NO! We love it. Its pricey, but it has the best dessert on property. Save room for the Almond Crusted Cheesecake.

We were there last year in Oct. The whole lobster was very good along with the almond crusted cheesecake!!! Service was also very good too.

Oh my gosh. Isn't that the truth! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! I could have been happy with just that dessert. It was the best cheesecake I've ever had.

We thoroughly enjoyed Narcooses. The food was wonderful. Great service. Fireworks over the water. Splendid time.

We were just there last night for my mom's 50th birthday, and we loved it! I had the crab-crusted halibut, which was one of the best dishes I have ever had in my life! We also had scallops, salmon, and the seafood stew, and everyone was very impressed. I had ordered a custom cake, so we didn't try the desserts, but I definitely want to go back!

It's been comments here and there. Mostly when comparing 2TS restaurants. I also saw reviews that called the lobster tail rubbery.

It just makes me sad when I see negative posts, and a little paranoid! I want to make sure we have a great time and chose decent restaurants. From what all of you are saying I think we'll be just fine!

We love it. We both had the Surf and Turf last year. This year I am having the whole Lobster. Am ordering a cake for our 37th wedding Anniversary. GF can make beautiful cakes.

The first time we dined at that location was, I think 1994 and it was very good.

we have ate there many times, but noticed a few years ago that the service was starting to get a bit..uneven.

The menu changed, and last year we were very disappointed. It was a aniversary dinner, and our waitress was more concerned on getting more bottles of wine for a table behind us. Then forgetting DW's food, I was served my entree before DW even got her appitizer, when I complained, they brought out both at the same time. DW's meal was cold to the touch. complained again and insted of fixing it, they just said that they would credit us half the meal.

I think a lot of people choose it to see the fireworks, if you dine there, stay away from a window table, I saw a bunch of little kids elbow their way to a window behind some elderly people, so much so that they couldn't get up or move their chairs. the wait staff did nothing.

we like to dine late, and the number of toddlers and small screaming kids in baby seats at 8 to 9 p.m. was amazing.

My sentiments exactly , We also really enjoyed Chefs De France.The cheese platter at the Bistro De paris is a great snack with a glass of St.Emillion red.:mehubby

It's been widely reported that the lobster tail that comes with the Surf n Turf is bad, because it's prepared from frozen. (The whole lobster is fresh, however, and people universally seem to love it.)

I've actually read a lot of very positive reviews of Narcoossee's lately ... with the exception of the lobster tail.

the lobster tail is very different from the whole maine lobster - the tail is not from a maine lobster, not the same

I did have a friend tell me i could get scallops instead of tail though

Sorry to intrude here.........but is the whole lobster included on the regular dining plan? We're going here for our anniversary because we loved it so much when we ate there a few years ago!!

Yes the whole lobster is on the dining plan. It is a 2 credit restaurant. You are welcome to choose the whole lobster and it is fabulous. It is already split and ready for you to eat. VERY VERY YUMMY. We love Narcoossees. We went a couple of years ago for my birthday and we are booked to go again for DH's birthday in September. We can't wait. The only other 2 credit restaurant we have attended was California Grill and honestly we loved Narcooossee's way more. I think the atmosphere is the best around.
