It is getting near the 180 day window for me, so I am getting my ADR plans together. DW and I are planning for our first Narcoosee's experience. We have heard so many great things.

A couple questions. I hear the the dinner (thankfully) will take longer than your average WDW table service dinner. About how long? We will be there in July, and would love to watch Wishes from the restaurant. What would be the ideal reservation time to shoot for?

Thanks for any advice or other Narcoosee's suggestions.

well, I don't know what restaurants you are referring to when you say longer than an "average WDW table service" so can't comment exactly on that, but Narcoossees doesn't take any longer than any of the other signature restaurants.

Not to worry, you can watch at any time during your meal and you can go right back to sit down and finish another course, dessert, etc. I prefer going outside to watch, of course you could possibly watch from your table, but I hear sometimes people are blocked by those outside. If Wishes is before you are seated, you can watch from the deck, and also if you have finished, so don't worry too much about timing being "perfect". That being said.....

If Wishes is at 10pm (have you checked the time, not sure if it's even out yet, personally I pay no attention to that stuff, I am soooo not an advance planner, lol) but, anyway, if it were me, I would make the ADR for 8pm or possibly 8:30. It depends how many courses you will be ordering. We order all courses and a really great bottle of wine or two, so it usually takes us awhile to dine. I like to watch Wishes after my meal is done, I don't care to get up and down during it. If you are only ordering an entree, your time may be less, say an hour?

edited to add, don't forget that you may or may not be seated at your ADR time. You will probably have a short wait, so don't forget to add in that time to your calculations.

We ate at there in May, it didn't take too long at all. Granted it was a little earlier, so I am sure that it will take longer later during the prime seating time. But I wouldn't for see it being longer than anywhere else. We actually just walked around the resort a little afterwards, so I would just make your reservation at like 8 or 8:30pm, then you can go out on the patio afterwards if you finish early or maybe just stay by the water if you finish earlier.

We went last August and it was a 10:00 Wishes time. We had an 8:45 adr and were seated around 9:00. It was perfect because we got to see the water parade and while we were eating appetizers and salad. Then, as we were finishing up our entrees, Wishes began.... and we ended with dessert!
Greatest Anniversary ever!

I think ADR's anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half before Wishes would be fine. And as noted, even if you secure a window table, your view may be blocked by those standing outside. We always just go out on the deck to watch..
