We enjoy both but they have very different menus.
I just read today that the Narcoossee's menu on Deb's site isn't current and we personally haven't dined there since last summer. Apparently there is anew chef. But unless there is a huge change, seafood will be in abundance with several alternatives.....steak, chicken or whatever. We plan to try it next month as our DD 19 will be with us and it's her favorite dinner spot at WDW.
California Grill changes the menu often but you can count on flatbreads, sushi choices, a variety of "1st" courses and 5 or 6 entrees. We go there every trip in part because there is such variety.
Both have always had very good food in our experience and usually excellent service. Different atmosphere but both have lovely views as well.
I hope someone who has eaten at Narcoossee's in the last few months comes along to help you more.
