Good Afternoon..

I have a question for all you wonderful and brillant minds!!

Those of you that are have a Wishes Wedding -- are you buying napkins to have at your Pre-Reception or Reception??

My DF says no, cause all it is == is one more thing with our name on it, and they will be having cloth napkins for dinner anyways! (we are not having a bar -- so he feels they are not needed)

But my Mom says it is tradition??

Who I listen too!! :scared1: Any help would be awesome!

I agree with your DF. There will be plenty of napkins, including cloth napkins and Walt Disney World-branded paper cocktail napkins. Save the money for your honeymoon! :thumbsup2

I agree with Lurky and your DF...

with Disney, things add up fast! If you have room in your budget and you think it would be a nice addition, then go for it... but I think if you need to cut out some things, for whatever reason, napkins with your name on it wont be missed as much as other things :thumbsup2

I also agree with everyone else - you don't need napkins - especially if you are not having any type of bar package - the napkins that Disney provides are REALLY nice - maybe you could tell your mom she could order them for your at home reception:confused3

I agree with you two, but my mom wanted them! We ended up ordering them with my invitations and hopefully will use them outside on the patio of whitehall for the pre, and at the dessery party. We ended up with napkins with Mickey and Minnie on them.. just something else to fill the scrapbook..

I would order the napkins. I agree with your mom - it is tradition. I know alot of old wedding things are not done any more - but this is one we really want to do. Our colors are white and red. We are having white tablecloths with red cloth napkins from Disney. I am also order red cocktail size napkins with our names, wedding date and some sort of graphic (not sure yet). Even if you are not having a bar - I am sure someone will be drinking soda, water or juice. You can even use them for your wedding cake.

For all the years of going to weddings as a child and now as an adult I always bring home a napkin from a wedding. I will usually keep it with the pictures. I always saved matchbooks also - and even though almost no one smokes anymore - we are thinking of ordering some of these also. I have a large bowl at home with matchbooks that I have saved from weddings, restaurants, bars and clubs that I have gone to over the years. We were looking for matches to light a birthday cake a few months ago and I found matches from my cousins wedding over six years ago. It reminded us of all the fun we had at that wedding.

I think you can get napkins online for not too much money. You might want to keep one with your wedding things when you get home. If there are any left, you can use them your first month of marriage during your dinner and remember your wedding.

Linda

I ordered napkins to put out at the dessert party. THey were never put out, and we ended up using some at the at home reception. We still have about half of the box left.

I have to agree with Linda, we ordered napkins for our dessert party to go along with our Figment theme. I'm glad we bought them because they were a nice touch and lots of people picked them up to take home as a keepsake :thumbsup2 Since we wanted an unusual character I had to order through Disney and they were pretty pricey close to $100.

For our at-home reception we just ordered some Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ones through "Invitations by Dawn" and we were able to get a good amount for only around $30.

Thank you so much for all of your input..

I think I am going to see what everything turns out to be price wise and if there is room in the budget then I will order then at the end..

Thanks again!!!

I would consider them.

Of course at our wedding we had them and everyone wanted them to take home so no one actually "used" them at all. :lmao:

Our was eggplant (purple) with a gold Mickey head and our names in the middle with the date at the bottom.

Thanks so much -- I will.. .I just got my BEO yesterday -- but come to find out it was not mine... AWWWW!!! So once I get my BEO I will see what we are at then decide..

Thanks

Personally if it was me I wouldnt get them it just seems like a waste to me.....they just end up in the trash....

That's what I am thinking too -- and since we are doing 3 favors and welcome bags people will have enough to remember the day!!

we did them but only because we won a gift certificate at a bridal show for a printing company and we had made our own invites so we ordered 100 napkins and put them on our bar and 1 at each place on tables and we still had alot left over..
if i would have had to buy them i would not, it is a waste and no one really pays attention i kept some for my scrapbook but i don't think i would have bought them knowing what i know now.
like Carrie said they are plenty of cloth napkins save the money for other things!!!!!!

I bought napkins from Impressions, and they looked amazing, and for the cocktail hour and drink napkins for 55ppl it was $150. I have some from the cocktail hour left over, and they are so cute! Navy Blue napkins with silver writting with the mickey pixie dust pattern and our names and the date. Compared to the price of everything else, it was just drop in the bucket, so I said sure when they told me how much it would be. But it added a nice touch. It just depends on if you want them though, because it is your wedding. They are cute, but not really necessary.
