Quick question on Napa Rose.

I'm going in December with family and they are not comfortable eating indoors yet. I was wondering if Napa Rose will take orders to go? I was thinking I can place to go orders and just eat outside at the tables in the courtyard. Has anyone done this before? Thanks in advance.

Happy Veterans Day to all those who have served. Thank you.

It can’t hurt to ask the worst they would say is no. I would imagine the most likely way to do this is to still make a reservation and then ask for your order to be boxed up. As reservations are definitely to help the kitchen run smoothly.

Haven’t done “to go” for Napa Rose but during the worst of 2020 did “to go” for a different fine dining restaurant. It was a huge disappointment even though we had been to the restaurant before. We even took out the good dishes and plated it.

Fine dining is just not good to go. It does not translate well. Once you take the food out of it’s “element” it becomes just food. Plating and ambiance count for a lot in fine dining. It really won’t feel like it was worth it eating out of a box. Even if they will do “to go” I would strongly suggest putting that money in to a Sip and Savor Pass instead or a Lamplight reservation requesting to be outside. There are some good dishes and drinks in both those places and you can still get ambiance and eat outdoors.

Never thought of it that way but you make a good point about losing the fine dining vibe. I was planning on having an easy dinner at Hearthstone lounge on arrival day after we check in. Their food is good but menu options are somewhat limited so I was wondering if I could supplement with something from Napa Rose. Guess I’ll play by ear. It’s probably not even a big deal. Thanks for the input.

I have no idea if Napa Rose does to go orders. I’d generally think not, but never hurts to ask. It’s Disney and there still some Magic. The idea of getting a reservation then having them box your order is smart, might be your best shot, but call them and ask if that will fly.

That said, I agree that getting it to go sounds like a bad idea. While the food to go might even taste pretty good, paying the menu prices and not getting the intended fine dining experience is bound to be disappointing. The service, the presentation, the atmosphere…..that’s what makes Napa Rose REALLY good. The food is excellent, too, but when you spend that kind of scratch you want the full experience. We had a great meal there Sunday, and I can’t imagine having enjoyed the food all that much as a to go order. The experience overall, eating there, was wonderful.

As a general rule, we are not doing indoor dining, based on the advice of our doctor, but Napa Rose still has their tables fairly spread out, so we do eat inside there (and so does our doctor!). You might be able to request sitting on the patio out back or maybe request a table that's off to one side. The CMs all wear masks still and your friends could put their masks on when not actually dining, if that makes them more comfortable.

Your family isn't comfortable eating indoors, but they are with Disney? In December crowds? I'm not sure this is the right vacation for them.
I would avoid Disney if people in your group are not comfortable with indoor dining

We're not comfortable with most indoor dining but we've still been going to Disney. We wear masks at all times, unless eating. We don't walk around while eating. I double mask on rides. It's doable. Just because somebody is cautious or has medical conditions, doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to enjoy Disney in a way that works for them!
