We'll be at disneyland 12/30-1/3 with our kids 5 and 8. We might be interested at eating at Napa Rose. We'd like to check the current menu first when we get there. Do we need to make reservations ahead of time or can we wait until we get there? If we decide against dinner and go for drinks can you sit outside near the fire pit with kids? Are there tables in the bar area, would we be able to get drinks and apps with the kids there?

I realize we'll be there at a busy time do we need reservations for all of our table service meals? Can you book any online like WDW or do I have to call for them? 60 days right?

Thanks for any help. This is our first Disneyland visit. :cool1:

We always make reservations, they can be cancelled if not used or change your mind. You can wait and take the chance you will not get in. Since we do not drink, can not help with those questions. Have fun.

I would make reservations. You can always cancel them if you change your mind.
It is a busy place.
We went in April and it was full.....you are going at a much busier time.
Can't helo with the drink question, either.

I would definitely make reservations, but there are some low tables and comfortable chairs in the bar area where you can eat with the kids. Sometimes it can get quite full of people that didn't make reservations so there's no guarantee you'll get a seating area. The fire pit area is small, but there are probably around 8-10 chairs that surround the fire pit. There is also 1 4 top table outside. That being said, I think it likely it would be too cold for me even with the firepit in December, but I am a SoCal wuss when it comes to weather.

There are places to sit and eat in the bar area, and my understanding (per the hostess last time we ate in the dining room) is that the entire menu is availble to those who eat in the bar area. I believe it is first come first serve in that area. Probably a better option for families with kids and/or fluid plans than the dining room

If it was me I would do ressies, just because it is the Napa Rose! Here is some info I have found for you (Sorry if I repeated anything that already has been posted!)

What the Disneyland websites says on Napa Rose:

Menu
The seasonally changing menu offers unique fresh tastes. Start off with appetizers like hand-harvested diver scallops or portobello mushroom bisque "Cappuccino." Dine on house specialties like strawberry sage barbeque duck breast or spit-roasted prime rib of pork with ranch-style black beans. The chef's 4-course prix-fixe tasting menu changes weekly.
Reservations
Dining reservations are recommended for Napa Rose and can be made in person for this location on a limited basis. Reservations can also be arranged in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Especially on weekends, make a reservation. NR does fill up. You can get the full menu in the lounge, but seating is not guaranteed and even the lounge can fill up during busy times. We went for just appetizers and drinks at 8pm on a Saturday night in September, and snagged one of the last tables in the lounge.

There is no on-line dining reservation system like at WDW. You have to call 714-781-DINE to make a reservation. You will not be given a confirmation number. You just check in under the name used for the reservation. NR is one of our favorite restaurants. I hope you and your family like it too.

Have a great first trip to DLR. :thumbsup2

Ok. Looks like I'll make a reservation. Just need to decide when. :cool1:

I think we'll try to arrive early and have a drink outside. DH loves fire pits and I know would enjoy the atmosphere. The info about the outside seating is helpful. Thanks. :thumbsup2
