Hi all...

Quick question....does anyone know where exactly the Napa room at the Cali Grill is...and do any of you wonderful brides have any reception pics???

TIA

Cait

It's by the observation deck. I'm struggling with how to describe it exactly: part of the restaurant is the dining/table area and then the other is the lounge area and "behind" the lounge area (so kind of on the back side) are the Napa/Sonoma rooms.

As for pics, I don't have any yet but we're getting married in January and the welcome dinner will be in Napa room. :)

If you walked off the elevator and went left instead of right towards the restaurant you go down the hallway towards the bathrooms and keep going and at the end it is on the end on the left. It has a beautiful view. I have a few picutres that I took this past July on our site visit but my reception in the Napa Room isn't until next Dec09.

HTH!

Our dinner after our wedding is going to be there. We were just at Disney last week and they didnt have any open seating times for us to go and check out the Cali Grill in general. Here are some of the photos that I received from Joe while we were in the first stages of planning. Our wedding is in January so after the wedding I can post more pics for you :)

Sorry these are so big....I hope they help!

Awesome pics...trying to decide on a location...looking forward to seeing how you liked it....Do you know if you have to use CG menus?

Yes - you have to use CG menus, they won't let you change anything on them, and they don't offer tastings. However, the food there is so good, I don't think you can go wrong! :thumbsup2

Thank you Miss Lurkyloo~

Still trying to pull info together...Its going to be a while before I can call and talk to Disney....I just want stuff to show Bob, so he knows we can afford this.

Do you know if you have to use CG menus

They have pre-set catering menus although they will make substitutions (ie pork isn't kosher so they will substitute in chicken for us). PM me if you want me to email you a pdf of the CG catering menus.

My fiance proposed at the California Grill and the food was AMAZING! I have never had steak that good. The other great thing is that they pipe in the music from the park that goes along with the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. So you get the view and the music! We are holding our Rehearsal Dinner there. :)

do you have to have a disney wedding to have a reception here?
Do you have to pay extra to use the room?
Is there a certain amount ($) you have to hit or are you just paying for the food ordered?
Do I contact the resturant direct to hold the room?
Can you play music in the room to have a first dance?

sorry for all the questions I just really want to use the room but cant find any info on it. :flower3:

I don't think you have to have a Disney wedding to use the room. As of right now, the minimum expenditure for the room is $3000 and you may have to pay extra to set up a system to play music. (You could always hook up an Ipod to one of those portable speakers, they have great sound quality!) :) You'd probably want to contact the restaurant for more info. HTH! :goodvibes

You can book a non-wedding-related event there by calling Catering & Convention Services at 407-828-3200. However, if they think you are trying to have a wedding event there (like a reception), they will make you go through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, which will mean you either have to book an Escape wedding (starting at $4,500 and not including the price of the meal) or a Wishes wedding ($12,000 minimum expenditure).

There is no venue-rental fee for using the room, but there are minimum amounts you must spend on drinks and food. The food and beverage minimum is $1,000 for events ending before 4:00 pm, $4,000 for events ending between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and $3,000 for events that start after 6:00 pm.

You can either hire a sound system to play music or, as the previous poster mentioned, bring your own iPod and speakers.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

So they pipe the music into the Napa and Sonoma rooms??

Thanks.

Oh no! I really like this room and the view is great! I already have the WP booked for our VR in Nov '09, but I love the view from this room and the intimate feel. I guess when we go on our site visit in Jan I will have to check this room out.

I spoke with disney and this was an option suggested for our reception too. would love some additional info . I have seen the pic on this thread and what I was emailed. my biggest concern is the lunch menu just because of of having to use their menu. we will have several young children too.We have never eaten at the CG. any input would be appreciated. I do love the view though:goodvibes

We ate at CG for the 1st time over Thanksgivng. Probably the best meal I have had at WDW. Even the kids steak was great, according to my eldest.

Tempura Malibu roll.:thumbsup2

I am concerned about being limited to the CG menu, especially with younger children. I am looking for a buffet vs. plated too.

The chocolate pudding is homemade, yum! Here's the rest of the menu. Mac&Cheese comes highly rated by my pasta nut. My kids(12/7) are probably above average in trying new things. We got the flatbread with the bacon and some other stuff and pretty much ate the whole thing themselves.

Guess you cant have dancing there either?
