Nancy Grace being sued

Agreed.

I use to like Nancy Grace, but she has gotten so full of herself and her condescending attitude is awful.

I rarely watch Nancy Grace and I can't imagine being interviewed by her. Still I don't believe anyone has ever been forced to be on her show. To me if you decide to be interviewed by her it's the same as going on Jerry or one of those other shows where you let all your dirty laundry be exposed to the world. People that do those shows seem to want the attention. Sorry that Melinda was unstable but do I believe being hammered by Nancy caused her suicide NO! Maybe what she knew about her son caused that.

I believe if you go on national tv under the guise of looking for your child and once there you hem and haw and don't answer the questions set forth you open yourself up to scrutiny.

The questions she was asked were not hard-WHY did you throw away all your sons belongings including his sonogram pictures? You said you were XXXX and we now know that to be untrue...Where were you?? ...

I don't believe she killed herself because of Nancy Grace-I believe she killed herself over her involvment in her sons dissapearance and figured it was only a matter of time before they caught up with her. PLUS we find out after the fact that she had attempted suicide before.

I know that if my child was missing and I was able to go on tv and beg for someone to help me find him-I would answer every single question. Hoping someone may have seen me someplace and may remember something I didn't see such as someone following me or something to that effect.

Melinda was done with Trent that is why he is missing and she committed suicide because she thought her life would be easier with him gone and suddenly it wasn't with all the searches and questioning

I feel bad for the boys dad because for the rest of his life he has to wonder where his child is and wonder if the next girl he meets and falls in love with is a psycho child killer as well

Melindas family has no right to sue NG they are as much to blame for the babys dissappearance as she is--But the dad has every right to sue them for not getting her the help she so obviously needed and because of that his child is gone

It is like everything nowadays, it's always someone else's fault  There is no personal responsibility in this world at all

I agree with this.

Why would CNN/NG be responsible for getting Melinda any help?

Unless she was a proven danger to herself or others, no one was responsible for Melinda except Melinda. And suing this one, that one, and every other one isn't going to bring his child back.

In most cases I would agree with you. Nancy Grace has stepped over the line here though and, unfortunately, it's not the first time or even the worst she's done.

I remember seeing a special about Sabrina's parents and that as a result of Susan Smith, that turned the tide on mysterious child abductions and when evidence or actions don't cooberate the story--people are much more quick to turn the parents into a suspect.

Actually, in any situation where someone goes missing, the closest family members are always investigated, due to the statitics that in most cases, these are the people who were involved in the crime. In the case of a child, the parents are usually under the most scrutiny until it can be proven otherwise.

This type of investigation practice has been around much longer than the Eisenberg or Smith case. The media may be quick to judge, but law enforcement tends to be more cautious.

Exactly. And don't forget, CNN and Nancy Grace have DEEP pockets. One might think they'd be busier searching for their grandson....

ITA!!

I'm with Lisa on this.
Nancy Grace had nothing to do with this woman's suicide. You think the investigators were easier on her than NG? I highly doubt that. Her family knows CNN has deep pockets and they want to take advantage of that.

Melinda killed herself because it was either
a. Planned this way all along so that she could get rid of Trenton so the father wouldn't get custody upon her death.
b. SHe did it due to the guilt of whatever it was she did to her son.

Wasn't the Lindburgh family suspect when their baby was kidnapped decades ago?

Based on the porn tape that surfaced with her in it, and a baby--most likely Trenton--crying his eyes out in the background while she was "acting," and that she is alleged to have fallen in with some pretty shady characters, I'd lean towards 'b.'

My thoughts exactly. If I were in their position, I'd be spending every free moment looking for my grandson instead of looking for lawyers to bring a lawsuit.

Melinda is the only person responsible for Melinda's suicide. Nancy Grace may be abrasive, but she's one of the only people in the media who is still keeping this case in the public eye. She seems to be more concerned about finding Trenton than his own grandparents are.

I couldn't agree more.

I'm still convinced the Eisenburg's murdered their daughter. NO sign of forced entry... no evidence to suggest anyone else was in their home. They got away with murder... actually they made money off her murder with their lawsuit.

Melinda's parents suing CNN is laughable. She agreed to be interviewed and then refused to answer even the most basic questions, like what store she visited with Trenton on the day he disappeared.

Actually, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department had a lot to do with screwing up the case against the Eisenbergs, due to the wiretaps, etc. Unfortunately, I doubt the truth will ever be known in that case.

It bothers me that it's Melinda's parents that are suing - from what I've read, they pretty much "wrote her off" long ago, and that's why she was with the grandparents. I think they (or a lawyer) sees big $$$$ signs at CNN, but I have a feeling they might be sorry they started this if the big guns bring out more dirt on Melinda.

I DO agree though with the part where they are asking that "Team Trenton" keep track of all the donations coming in, since it's supposed to be used for a reward fund. I kind of thought the same thing the other day when the news showed Josh (Trenton's dad) wearing some sort of pimp hat (that's what they called it - it was a huge hat, purple, with a big feather. What's up with that? :confused3 ) and his team working at an outdoor venue of some kind and the reporter showed a donation jar just packed with cash.

I still have faith though that Trenton will show up someday, one way or another. But then, we still don't really know whatever happened to Jon Benet after all this time either......
