Okay, so you say cheering is to pump up the crowd?
What's wrong with a few cheers and NO stunts?

Why do you NEED the stunts? They're nothing but a safety hazard, ending in severe injuries. Stupid call whoever decided to bring stunts in. JMO.

i dont think that football/basketball cheerleaders should do stunts. especially when there arent any mats. but since it is a big part of competition cheering it would be really hard to take it away.

I don't even see the need for the stunts. And another thing that gets me is cheering seems to be sexist.
Why cheer for only boys teams, why no cheerleaders for the girls sports?

Woah there sister.
Calm down, he was just stating his opinion, no need to freak out.
I wasn't "freaking out."
I never said he couldn't state his opinion.
I said he shouldn't keep dissing cheerleading if he doesn't have anything to back it up.
And his "opinion" was basically like saying..
Football is boys just trying to look tough running with a football.

See, I don't really regard cheering as a sport because now it's just too dang dangerous. It is more dangerous than football, I read that in a recent article that now I can't find. :headache:

To me, now it's just an adreniline (sp?) rush. There's nothing sporty about it when you have kids obtaining more catastrophic injuries than anything else.
I think competitive is definitely a sport. However I do not think school cheering is. But they are both hard work and take training.
For me, it is an adrenaline rush, but it is also I've been trained for cheerleading.

i love how you just jump right in there ally

Well everyone else was arguing, and I didn't really want to join in the argument, but I didn't know what else to say, so I just said the first thing that came to my mind about cheerleading.

Okay seriously lets change the subject before this turns into a huge controversy.

This morning, we were in the car, and I was drinking something....
Then we went over a bump while I was drinking and I got it up my nose, so my nose was hurting the rest of the day.
And it still is.

it was okay. i mean i have good teachers and okay classmates.

but it was bad cause i dont EVER see my BF during the day and today was one month :(

Aww that really sucks.
I'm sorry.

I feel bad for starting this xD

Without stunts it'd be pretty boring IMO.

Why shouldn't they do stunts? We don't do anything major, they're just standard so needing a mat isn't necessary. Plus we practice with the mat and on the track/field.

What girl sports?
They're boy and girls soccer teams, but neither have cheerleaders to begin with?

I wasn't "freaking out."

::yes::

Can we seriously just stop talking about cheerleading and anything else that's gonna make us all ***** at each other over nothing?
