named after disney?

Well, not me personally, but I did have a college professor named Mrs. Duck who named her children Donald and Daisy . I am not kidding. Can you imagine signing a check Donald Duck??

Not our son (Brady)....but our cat is named Lilly after Lillian Disney. I call her Lilly Belle a lot though.........Funny part is that when we got all her adoption papers after we had her a few weeks her birthday is the same as Walt Disney's.

We have a Chihuahua of the same name for the same reason!!! We too call her Lilly Belle!

My DS8's name is John Michael like the two brothers from Peter Pan.

Growing up our cat's name was Peter Pan. We also had a huge Great Dane named Simba but that was way before The Lion King.

We have 3 children and none have Disney names. Our son however was named after U2's The Joshua Tree. Even cooler than a Disney name!

We didn't name either of our kids with Disney in mind, but both ended up sharing names with Disney characters.

My oldest is Sebastian, so named because I wanted something unusual but not weird and came across the name on my family tree, but people do ask if I got the name from The Little Mermaid.

Neither DH or I can remember where exactly we got the name Shanna from, but she was about 3 when the Disney Channel started running the "Shanna's Show" shorts between shows on Playhouse Disney. For the longest time, she thought that was just for her!

My sister has always loved The Little Mermaid and named her daughter.....Ariel. DW and I still don't know quite what to think about that.

My neighbors' daughter is also named Ariel. Her mother freely admits that she named her after the character.

Well, unless you count that guy who does the intro at Soarin'. Sorry, I hadda tease.

So far, no kids named after Disney characters... actually, no pets yet either, even though we always name the pets after a character somewhere. Huh. In-laws have a kitty Belle though.

My DD is Lilianna Marie, we call her Lily and Marie after Marie the cat of course. She has tons of Marie clothes! we love that cat! If I have another girl her name will be Isabelle, Belle for short and I was considering the middle name Disney...we'll see...If I can slip it by DH. But he knows Im addicted to Disney and so is my mom, so he might just let it slide.

I do have a few four legged babies, I've named Disney names.

Jasmine- Dog (Aladdin)
Cleo- Cat (cat in pinocchio)

I had 7 koi fish that I names after all the Little Mermaid characters.. (Ariel, Ursula, Sebasttin, Flotsam, Jetsam, Triton, Eric)
We also had another cat that we had for a short while (found her outside, kept her until we could find a home) we couldn't decide on a name. I wanted Belle, mom wanted Shamu or Lumiere I believe, sister wanted Angela.. oh my.. poor cat ended up with the name "Kitty'

I've had many more pets, but no more with Disney names.

Isn't Cleo the fish? I'll have to watch the movie again. Yes, it is, I named my black & White cat after I bought a Figaro stuffed cat from Pinocchio at Disney World.

My human child is not a disney name but my next furbaby will. We have one chesapeake bay retriever who is a dark brown color. Her name is Roux, as in cajun cooking. Our next chessie will also have a color name, Copper, and also from Fox and the Hound, one of my favorite disney movies.

We don't have any kids yet, but I am in LOVE with the name Alice (alice in wonderland) and Jack (POTC); however, they also have other special meanings to our family and such, so that's why DH has almost agreed to Alice. Our fur kids have Peanuts names b/c they are beagles - Linus and Schroeder.

BluOrchid2 - I adore Sleeping Beauty (she's my FAVE princess!!!) and the name Aurora. I've approached my DH about naming a dd Aurora - he has vetoed the idea. I'd love to name a dd that!!! I think I'd call her Rory for short

We named our daughter Aurora. Yes, it is Sleeping Beauty's name, and it is a beautiful name. I used to be a bit embarassed about it but I am not now.

If we have a daughter we plan to name her Aurora. It is actually my DH's great great grandmother's name.
