We haven't done this game in a while, so I thought I'd start it up again. The rules are simple. Post one or 2 lines of a song here. Whoever can name the song and the artist gets to post the next one (bonus points for knowing the year it came out).

I'll start us off with a simple one from a rather cheesy 70's song:

"In the heat of a summer night, in the land of the dollar bill"

The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace

"Poor old Johnny Ray
Sounded sad upon the radio"

Another cheesy but 80's song. ;)

The Night Chicago Died, by Paper Lace. Don't remember the year, but do remember the purple checked bellbottoms I wore dancing to it!

Mos Mom yours is C'mon Eileen. Here is my contribution:

Half my life is in books' written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages

Here's Mine...

"Being good isn't always easy no matter how hard I tried"

Son Of A Preacher Man

"Warm beer and bread they say could raise the dead, well it reminds me of a menu at a Holiday Inn"

Could it be "Son of a Preacher Man"? The words are close at least.

If so, here's one:

"When the night returns just like a friend. When the evening comes to set me free..."

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Dear Sir or Madam will you read my book,
It took me years to write will you take a look,

Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett Woohooo!!!

Here is mine....

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
How about some information--please

Paula Abdul-Straight up

The Good Stuff - Kenny Chesney

Continuing the Country theme

"He's heading back from somewhere that he never should have been ."

The Thunder Rolls.....Mr Garth Brooks!!!! (gosh I love that song!!)

I want to run through the halls of my high school,
I want to scream at the top of my lungs

No Such Thing: John Mayer

Are you aware of what you make me feel baby
Right now I feel invisible to you right I'm not real
