Name some things you have done

Here is what I can think of:

*Drew Carey bought me a drink at my bachlorette party
*went skiing in shorts in the Alps (it was August) and was shocked when we arrived back at the ski lodge to find high school French girls topless laying in the sun by their fathers (it was our first trip to Europe)
*had my picture taken in New York City with John Lennon
*Went to a monkey reserve in Mexico. The monkeys sat on you and crawled all over you.
*Participated in Hands Across America. (I can't remember the date, but it was in the 80's)
*was on the Today Show while they filmed a group at the 100th Anniversery of Hershey Chocolate. (it was before the day when we could tape it...that would be fun to have today. Our son was an infant and rode with me...about 16 years ago.)

Sat in a Tibetan monastery listening to monks chant.

Cruised the Nile.

Had dinner at Club 33 in Disneyland.

Did a princess meal at Disneyland Paris.

Gazed up at the Statue of David.

Held my husband's hand on the Eiffel tower.

Spent a year in therapy trying to overcome a lobster phobia.

Graduated college in 3 years with a 3.98 GPA while having a baby midway through.

Became best friends with my husband's ex-wife.

My present husband and my ex husband became very good friends and called each other husband-in-law.

I think I am pretty boring compared to most of the others but, here goes:

-had a fractured skull when I was 2 years old (not child abuse just an accident)
-Had skull surgery to repair the fractured skull (my forehead actually shattered and they had to rebuild it with metal and plastic, except for a couple of huge scars which my bangs/hair cover no one can tell)
-went into cardiac arrest on the table during the above mentioned surgery
-attended 6 different elementary schools(we moved alot)
-was a candy striper at a local hospital for 5 years
-was named junior volunteer of the year (just locally)when I was 15
-fainted at a wedding (I was 8 months pregnant and baby caused my heart rate to drop-I have a heart condition. left the wedding in an ambulance. doc said I was ok so I went back to the wedding)
-had 2 c-sections
-held someones hand as they look their last breath (DH's grandfather)
-got into a car accident with a cop (his fault-he crossed the double yellow line into my lane. no injuries just lots of damage to my car)
-attended the following concerts:
-Def Leppard
-Madonna
-Celine Dion (2x's)
-Meatloaf (2x's)
-Heart (4x's)
-Journey
-Cheap Trick
-witnessed a plane crash-TWICE(the first was when I was a teenager and 2 planes crashed on my block, they were small private planes-no survivors, a few people on the ground were injured and I think 1 or 2 people died too)(the second was because I live a few minutes from a small local airport (didn't live near the airport the first time) and a small private plane crashed into a building by my house-we saw the plane coming in too low and the engines were silent, suddenly it hit the unoccupied building(warehouse)-the pilot and passenger died).
-climbed to the crown on the Statue of Liberty
-swam in the Hudson River (on NJ side) I was a stupid teenager.
-roller skated while hanging on the back of a moving city bus. (I was a stupid teenager)
-was the coach for my cousin when each of her 3 kids were born (her DH was there too)
-when I was 19 I found out that the person I thought was my mom was really my grandmother and the person I thought was my oldest sister was actually my mother (she was 14 when I was born). I lost her when I was 38 so ironically I had her for 19 years as my sister and 19 years as my mom.

Touched Gunnar Nelson's leg...that's right...the hair band duo, Nelson, from the early 90s. We should just stop the thread now. This can't be beat.:rotfl2:

Okay here goes:

Had 1 emergency C-section. Son born at 30 weeks weighed 2 pds 13oz.
2nd C-section. Son born with 6 toes.
Had back surgery and then 6 weeks later had a spinal leak and had to have emergency surgery to fix the leak.
Fell down flight of stairs at my job and had to have 2 back fusion surgeries and broke my tailbone. So total of 4 back surgeries.

Have been married to "My very best friend" and the "Love of my Life" for the last 17 years.

Crossed Checkpoint Charlie from West to East Berlin and seen the Berlin Wall intact - while all of this still existed.
Visited Russia while it was still the USSR, and seen Lenin's Tomb.

Welcomed in the Millenium with several hundred thousand of my closest friends on the Las Vegas strip.
Danced on stage with Buddy Guy - I started out in the audience when he pulled me up.

And I live on the beach.

This has been really interesting to read the various experiences of the everyone here.

Let's see if I can add anything....

1) Have coached 2 All-American track athletes; one of whom had competed in the Olympic Trials
2) Have a Master's degree
3) Several times went to North Dakota for vacation as a kid-my mom was from North Dakota
4) Watched my cousin play with her country western band several times-the Grammy that they won was hanging in my aunt's basement-she no longer is with the group
5) Been to WDW 5 times with my wife-the next time I will be on a solo trip because she is no longer with us-and try to find her memorial cards that my brother hid throughout the parks

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:Best of luck to you.

Just thought of another one...

Saw Edgar Allen Poe's funeral (Baltimore 2009) and attended many of his birthday celebrations.

Lets see ~

Scalped concert tickets roadside as my primary summer job while in high school. So of course, I saw every concert that came to town for three consecutive summers.

Got arrested Christmas morning for driving without a license at age 16. My parents gave me a car (from money they owed me really, lol) that morning and let me take it for a spin down the road. Got caught about 2 miles from home, just outside my grandparents' driveway.

Went cross country for 3 months with a boyfriend the night I graduated from high school.

Sold flowers on the street corner in San Jose, CA in 1979 to earn money to eat:hippie:

Built a house when I was 23 years old (not myself but had it built, lol) where I still live today.

Dated, moved in with, and became engaged to my boss from my first "real career" job and helped him take care of foster infants/kids nearly every weekend for two years. That wasn't working for me though:laughing:

Did a solo backpacking trip around Europe (13 countries) for six months the year I turned 25.

Got stuck for many overnight hours during a full moon high tide at the local 4X4 beach with DD when she was an infant.

I'm sure there's more but its Sunday morning and I'm only on cup #1 :rotfl:

I saw NKOTB in concert a dozen times as a teenager including 4 times in one weekend. When I was 14 my grandparents took me to Boston (from Michigan) on vacation to see all their houses and go to their hangouts. We went to the pizza place they hung out and brought home an extra pizza that we let dry out and sprayed with a sealer and it is still in my grandparents attic in the box. :confused3

OMG - HiFi Pizza!!! You are my hero for preserving and keeping the pizza! :)

Have you gone to see them at all this time around?

I'll just choose there to keep my list short, but there are many more...

Was featured on "ABC's World News Tonight" with Peter Jennings back in the late 90s. The story was about my classroom. News people and camera men were in my classroom for several hours!

Was part of what seemed like a "spy movie" while on a train in Italy where a thief stalked my friend and I, snuck in our sitting room while we were sleeping and stole her camera bag, and then had another passenger chase the thief through the moving train to get my friend's camera bag back. After that the thief was still on the train and kept stalking us all night again, waiting for us to fall asleep! :scared1:

Had front row center seats to a Van Halen concert in 1980 where I gave David Lee Roth a sombrero! Years later I won a contest where I got dinner, limo ride and backstage passes to a David Lee Roth concert (post Van Halen).
