Name Change on Existing Reservation?

I've been a DVC member for over six years and have a question that I can't find the answer for in the member guidebooks or web site - can someone help?

We have a December 2005 BWV reservation for a family member who recently informed us that they are no longer able to make the trip due to work requirements. (I'm very happy that we are more than 30 days from the arrival date because I have 150 points tied up in that reservation and don't want them in a holding account). Is it possible to invite someone else and change the name on the existing reservation? Is it as simple as calling member services and changing the name/address? I know that I can cancel without penalty and have the points redeposited in my account, but I wanted to check out this alternative.

Hi Wisegirl,

Yes, it is just that simple. They will want the names of the new people on the reservation and you will be good to go.

I've done it twice for my Dec. ressies. No penalties no problems!

Two years in a row we have had two different families back out on us!! The first year we banked the points. This year we posted them on this board and changed the names over to people we don't even know. No sweat!
