Nail polish recommendation

I don’t like going for manicures but I like having my nails polished. I swear lately whatever brand I pick I have to put so many coats on for coverage. Any recommendations on a brand and if you know the price let me know. Thx!

I like Sally Hansen Miracle Gel........about $8 at Walmart, but found many places. A lot come the top gel included also

Have you ever tried nail strips? Many brands, I use Color Street, you get 16 strips, they are real nail polish you apply to your nails, I finish with a top coat. They last at least 2 weeks without chipping, like gel polish they are ready to go. Many solids, designs, and glitters at a cost of $10 to $13. They even have them for your toes, and a petite line for smaller hands.

OPI is great, essie is great as well. Those are both about $9. Butter London is a little more expensive but great. For a cheap option I like sally hansen hard as nails. As good as some of the more expensive options.

Essie, OPI, and Chanel are my go tos for coverage and color palettes. Chanel is the most expensive and the other two are about the same price range (middle of the road). Revlon used to be good but they changed their formulation some years back.

I like Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and the Essie Gel Couture - Sally Hansen is around $8 I think and Essie is around $11. Both last about a week for me without really noticeable chips - any other brands I get maybe a day or two before chips.

Can I ask if there's anything special you do to keep them looking good for 2 weeks? I use color street too, but by the 5th/6th day they're cracking throughout the nail and it really doesn't look good.

I find that the most common brands vary a lot between color and formulation even. It is so frustrating to spend time on nails only to have them chip within a day or 2.
That said, I like Cadillacquer and Static Nails.

Try putting on a nail primer first, Olive & June has a good one carried at Target. You want to use a lacquer and not a polish, Essie and Opi are good brands for color. I tend to stay away from gel polish as it can take more work to remove on my nails. I have natural nails, to get a long lasting manicure make sure to apply polish and top coats along the front edge of your nail so it helps wrap the nail. A pretty good top coat you can find in stores is Seche Vite. My home manicures can last 2 weeks.

I use a quick dry top coat. Do you use the wipes before you apply the strips? Last time I did use a base coat but I have had them last 2+ weeks without the base coat.

Yeah, I always use the wipes...I don't know, maybe I'm just really rough on my nails, but I'm lucky if I get a full week before they're cracking - it's not like chipping, but the paint cracks all throughout the color and it just looks really bad. I'll try using a top coat to see if that helps.
