Nail Polish on carpet HELP!

Well the 2 yr old decided to paint her nails herself- don't know how she got it open - anyway she was so proud - "paint them" as I raced upstirs to see the bottle open on my bedroom carpet anybody know if there is a way to get it out? Goo gone maybe? THANKS!!

From what I've read, try a NON-ACETONE nail polish remover.
Pour some on to saturate the carpet in the area of the stain, and blot with a clean towel or paper towel. Alternate blotting and gently rubbing, starting every once in a while with a clean towel so as not to smear the stain around.

Once you've removed most of the stain with the polish remover, you can use Goo Gone to remove the remainder of the stain.

ETA: Upon further reading, nevermind on the polish remover. Most say that the best ever fix for nail polish on the carpet is Windex. Do it the same way. Douse the stain with Windex (the blue stuff), and blot/rub clean with clean towels.
Also, depending on the color of your carpet, you can substitute a solution of hot water, dish detergent, and a tiny bit of bleach instead of the GooGone.

White foam shaving cream also works if it's a light carpet.

My DD got red nailpolish on my family room carpet--light beigy colored--and i used Folex carpet cleaner. It worked!

How much, and is it hardened and sitting on top? I wouldn't put anything on it to dissolve. I would pull it us and use a razor blade to cut it off, if the carpet is cut pile and not a berber.

This is one of those instances where you call the toll free number on the bottle of nail polish. If there isn't one on the bottle itself, find the number on the internet. OR, you can call the carpet manufacturer. Some of the "cures" you read about online can be worse than the original stain!
