We will be leaving this Saturday for 7 days trip! Currently we have MYW Ticket with Free Dining promo., I'm planning to upgrade our tickets to AP as soon as we enter the Park on Saturday, so we can also purchase TIW membership.

Now, out MB is loaded with MYWTicket and our FP+, what will happen once I upgrade to AP? Can they reload the MB to AP and can still keep FP+ we selected? I don't want our FP+ screwed up............. could anyone let me know what is likely to happen?

Thank you!

1. Your MB is not "loaded" with anything.

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain (and weakly "transmit") a unique serial number that is used to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

2. Your ticket information in your MDE account will change to AP.

3. See #1 above.

4. FP+ info remains the same.

Relax, and have a great trip!

Your MB isn't loaded with your tickets exactly. Your MB is connected to your MDE account. Once you upgrade to the AP, nothing will happen with your MB. You will just keep using it as normal. You will also receive a TiW Card and an AP Card.

Thank you for the explanation.

So are we going to receive the new sets for MB if we upgrade to AP? Or are they just going to change their system to AP, so we can keep the same MB?

So I need to carry AP card along with MB to enter the park each time??

A. So are we going to receive the new sets for MB if we upgrade to AP?

B. Or are they just going to change their system to AP, so we can keep the same MB?

A. Yes, but not during THIS trip. They will send you a special AP MB in the mail sometime
after you return home. (For use on upcoming trips.)

B. For THIS trip... yes.

Thanks!!

You need to use the AP card only when you PURCHASE something.
(To get the AP discount.)

Great!

Thank you Robo and DisneyPrincess!!

That's all the answer I was looking for!!:flower3:

You will receive your discount card in the mail (with your AP Magic Bands) so in order to get the merchandise discounts, you'll need to show your Annual Pass Card. When you use the TiW Card, you'll be asked to show your AP too.

To the OP, I just this upgrade in mid-October. We upgraded MYW tickets to a Premier AP. The process itself was pretty smooth. We received our AP cards right at that time and purchased the TiW. Overall, as others have said, they basically convert your MYW tickets in your account to APs, so your MagicBands will still work. It may take a few hours for everything to show up and function properly with your MB. If you have any issues, go back to Guest Service and they can help you.

I haven't received any other MB yet, but maybe I won't because I already had MB from the trip itself. In truth, I don't need any more MB; I already have three!
