myw with a 10 yr old?

Hi Everyone,
Just a little confused on this..... in most restaurants, the Children's menu states from 3-11 yrs of age.....
The MYW adult is after 3-9?? Just doesn't make sense to me.....

Does anyone have any experiences with the plan and an older child?? I think it would be worth it the cost was for a child, but maybe not an adult.

I assume Disney priced the Meal plan the same as they price the park tickets... anyone 10 and above is considered an adult in their eyes. Since the Dining plan is only offered as a package add-on, I could see how for convenience sake the "10 and older" components (dining and park tix) should match.

Also, the "kids" meals (except for buffets) can be ordered by anyone of any age. The ages listed are just a guideline.

I think that the buffets should be priced to match the rest of WDW's age cutoffs. Until they are, there will be confusion and complaints.

I am also going to be visiting with a 10 year old. It is in our best interest to pay "cash" for any character meals as she would be charged the child's price of around $10. I will then save those extra table service meals to either get another sit down or use on a signature meal. Currently, I am tossing it up on a signature between Yachtsman and Ca. Grill. For all of the other table service meals, I am very lucky in the fact that she has a healthy appetite. She loves prime rib when we go out to eat here so I am sure she will want it there as well. For those with 10 and 11 year olds that eat like birds, they would be better paying cash for their meals and use the extra meals for another table service or a signature or not opting for the MYW dining. Just my thoughts.
