MYW upgrade, can you do it twice?

Here my situation...

We had a 7 day myw hopper and only used 3 days, before we left the world we added no expire for $55 (i think). So we were left with 4 day hoppers w/ no expire.

I called WDW today inquiring about a Thankgiving 06 trip. I was told, and the CM put me on hold to verify, that we could upgrade to a 7 day at the parks for the cost difference b/t the 4 and 7 day Approx $50 each.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks

Yes you can do upgrades twice but ... When the ticket is 15 days from first usage it can no longer be upgraded, but may be traded up towards another ticket. So I am told.

After you used 3 days of a 7 day ticket the ticket is not treated as a 4 day ticket but rather is still treated as a 7 day ticket for the purposes of upgrading or trading up or adding non-expiration. You would have been converting your passes to (partially used, maximum of,) 10 day passes (assuming you came in for the upgrade within the first 14 days of the ticket's lifetime).

Incidentally, adding 3 more days to a non-expiring 7 day pass costs about the same as adding 3 more days to a non-expiring 4 day pass regardless of how many days were already used on either.

So if I am understanding correctly, I will be trading up for approx $50 a ticket as opposed to the $12 or so it would have cost within the first 14 days?

Thanks

No, you would have upgraded the No expiration option as well, and I think that costs $100.00 each on the 10 day pass

Trading Up.

You have about $308. invested in what is now a partly used 7 day non-expiring ticket with hopping. With 4 days remaining and it is more than 14 days from first usage the trade up value is $176. or 4/7'th. You need to add $132. or $44. per new day to get back a 7 day unused ticket also costing $308. or add $191. or $32. per new day to get back a 10 day unused ticket costing $367. (which must have all of the features including non-expiration that you exploited on the old ticket).

Had you upgraded the ticket the second time before going home on your first vacation, your partly used 7 day ticket for which you already paid an extra $59 for non-expiring would have gained an 8'th (non-expiring) day for $51, a 9'th day for $4. and a 10'th day for $4. which is where the roughly $50. number comes from.

OT: With a 4 day non-expiring pass less than 14 days from first usage the fifth non-expiring day costs $30, the sixth day costs $14. and the 7'th day costs $14., total about the same as 7 to 10 day example above.

Upgrading: Applying the FULL value of your current admission to a new piece of admission

Dollar credit: Applying a pro-rated dollar amount of your current admission to a new piece of admission

You would receive a dollar credit for your 4 day admission.
