Hi all! We just got back and had a magical trip with free dining and all that but that's not why I'm writing :flower: . Nope, I have a question about the Magic Your Way base ticket we had to buy in order to get the dining, see we have AP's and never got around to using our ticket. Now it occured to me, is it still good? Of course it's on our room key and since we have checked out I don't think it is, but does anyone know for sure?

We hope to go again next Christmas or maybe even Christmas 2007, would it still be good for a day at a park?

thanks anyone who knows :flower: !

I'm pretty sure a one day base ticket never expires. It wouldn't be activated because you've never used it. We did this same thing because we are switching resorts mid-trip and were told the one day ticket didn't expire.

Yeah, I think you are right. If you never use a ticket, it should be good forever. I was wrong. Sorry for the bad info.

Hi, just wanted to say that I contacted my TA who then contacted Disney and yep, the base tickets are still good :flower: . I wish I had known that when we were there because I would have gotten a letter or something from the front desk.

Now I need to save our room keys since they should be on there, keep it in good condition Disney said. It will be a year or probably two before we go so together with the TA letter and name of the person she spoke to, plus our AP reciepts showing how long they were good for, plus my check in documents...well I believe I shouldn't have any problems even if the room key is messed up.

Hope so anyway, we have 4 base tickets!

Yes, as others have said, it's good forever. You can use it as is or apply it towards the cost of another ticket some time in the future. Too late now, but in case the question ever arises again, you can have the tickets pulled from your room key and put on their own separate card. That's what we did. :sunny:

That is great news. We have one day base tickets. And I will have to remember to have them pulled off our room keys and save them for our next trip.

:cool1:

You can also apply the cost for your base tickets to new AP's

That's great JJohnsson because who knows what the best deal will be when we finally get around to going again! This time around, even when we had our AP room discount all in place, the free dining plan was offered and that turned out to be even better. Plus if all goes well with these base tickets, well then the dining plan we had was even a better deal than we thought :Pinkbounc !

How did you do that? I bought a 7 day MYW with pluses (because that's what everyone else in our room bought) for our Sept trip. Once down there I used my AP and never activated the 7 day ticket. The day we checked in at POP I went to guest services and asked to have the MYW ticket removed from the room key and to get just a regular MYW ticket instead. The CM checked with several people and finaly told me they couldn't do it, but not to worry about it as the ticket could stay on the room key and still be good for life. Our last day I went to guest services at MK and again asked to have the park ticket removed from the room key and was again told it couldn't be done. He did check the room key though and verified that it had not been activated and told me it would be good for life regardless of the dates on the room key. I would still rather have just a MYW park ticket though and if it can be done will take it back when I go in Dec and exchange it. I'll still be using my AP in Dec, by the way.

Hmm sometimes it depends on the CM you get.

One very early morning when we were there I though it would be nice to have a print out of all our dining ressies so I went to the front desk and asked the CM there. He told me that would be fine and proceeded to type out vouchers one after the other, using special paper and it took forever. He said I would need them for all the resturants or they wouldn't seat me! Now that I think about it, it must have been our very first park day, since we got there the evening before and just ate at the Pop for dinner. To make a long story short, I stood there for about 15 minutes and had about 4 vouchers completed before it came to me that this was madness! I had never read anything about vouchers on the Dis, and so I just told him I'd come down and do the rest later, then left.

Of course I didn't need them, and later that evening went to another person and got a list printed out in 2 minutes flat :flower:

That CM even told me that the resturants would charge my credit card first, and then remove that charge and transfer it to the plan when I had eaten. I told him Disney didn't have a credit card on file so that wasn't possible, to which he replied "doesn't matter" !!!

Kristina's right, I guess, aubriee. I had my tickets pulled from our room keys at Pop...Lobby Concierge. The CM who was helping me actually offered to do it for us when she realized we weren't using the tickets. I didn't even go there for that reason, but I was happy she offered nonetheless. I was worried one of us was going to accidentally put that room key through the turnstiles. I mentioned to her that...gee, I didn't know they were able to do that! She told me not to feel bad, that many CMs didn't even know they could do that! I guess she was right.
