We were in the closest Disney store to our house (1hr away) on Sat. I thought I would check on a MYW ticket for DM who will be joining us on our Dec. trip. There wasn't a pass longer than seven days and when I asked the store manager about it she said that we should shorten the trip or buy an AP. Is this true? Does any one have any suggestions. :confused3

If your local Disney store or trave agent does not have the 8 day pass in stock, you can buy the 7 day Expiring pass and after you get to WDW, add the 8'th day. The added cost is based on gate price to gate price which means you keep most of any advance purchase discount.

Eight day non-expiring is highly not recommended. If you need to or want to add non-expiration ($107.) to an 8 day pass, you can add the 9'th and 10'th days for just four more dollars each.

Whereas non-expiration for a 7 day pass costs $59.

Wow! More then 5 minutes to save changes! The board must have crashed!

I'm surprised they told you that. My husband and I are honeymooning there and while one of us got an AP pass to get the discounted room rates, the other one of us got a 9 day parkhopper plus pass for $280.00. We get 5 extra options to split b/w waterparks, Disneyquest, DWWOSports, etc. and we can park hop for all 9 days. There are also 8 day passes as well. I recommend signing up for the newletter at www.mousesavers.com. Subscribers get special discounts and offers to passes like that (normally the pass we bought would be $380.) Even then though, it would still be cheaper for you to go this route if you were not planning on visiting the parks again within the year. It sounds like the customer service rep might have been new or not co mpletely versed in the world of WDW discounted tickets. ;)

I just ordered two ten day tickets through Ticketmania. So they are available.

Thank you all for the letting my know there were more options. Once again the Disers come to my rescue.
