Hey everyone.

We're in the process of booking for August (Yay!) but I need a little help. We've already decided on the hotel (The Peabody again :goodvibes ), but I can't decide which flights to go with.

Does anyone have any experience with Mytravel Premier gold or Monarch Premium cabin? They're both really good prices and look pretty good, but I just can't make up my mind.

Yes Monarch, but flying to join a P&O cruise in the Caribbean. They are dire! The Premier cabin has a seat pitch of 34" which is pretty miserable for an upgraded seat, however, their Economy is absolutely appalling at 29" which is even worse and downright dangerous on a medium length flight I think!

If you have any alternative, I'd take it!

My friend has done both and said Mytravel is the better one. She would never fly monmarch again no matter how cheap it was.

We have flown with Monarch twice and didn't have any problem with the flights or seats. I am 5 foot 6 and the hubbie and two lads about 6 foot. The entertainment isn't up to much though but we all have psps so take our own with us so that wasn't really a problem.

We didn't think the premier area looked worth its money though but we wouldn't have any problems with travelling Monarch again.

P&O have dropped them as there were so many complaints and they were so unreliable.

Looks like MYtravel then. We used them when we flew to Vegas a few years ago and we had a pretty nice flight, so I'm sure it'll be the same this time.

Thanks for your help guys :)

LAst time i was in Florida (over ten years ago!) we flew with Monarch, and even then commented on how cramped it seemed for a flight of such length!

Would be flying with them now if my sister-in-law (an air hostess with Monarch) wasn't such a selfish girl and had gotten us on a flight cheap instead of fobbing us off with "oh i dont know, ask them yourself" when we asked what she could do with us - last time i do anything for her.... sorry, i digress.

Anywho, i'd recommend MyTravel over Monarch is my point

Hi

We must be the only ones who enjoyed Monarch!! We travelled with them last year, Premium and thought they were fab. Good service, good food and films. We are going again in August and would have booked Monarch again, only Thomas Cook were cheaper.

I am so glad someone has a good word for Monarch, as we have booked to go with them in September, all our previous trips have been with My Travel but Monarch was cheaper this year.

As many of you know, I don't do "cheap" :rotfl: :lmao:

However on our frequent trips to our villa in Spain we always use Monarch, two reasons,
1) pre booking of extra legroom seats at the front of the A330
2) We have found excellent on-time departures and excellent service.

Would never use them on Long haul, but would not use My travel, TCD, Flyglobespan, Thomsonfly or any other charter airline for such long trips.
What I mean by that is I would not see any differebce between Monarch and any other.

If cost is the deciding factor, go for it! :goodvibes
