Notice that the map and text for March 13 disagree?

52° 22'N, 4° 53'W - somewhere between Ireland and England
52° 22'N, 4° 53'E - Amsterdam

I just really studied this......and when I posted the summary, I could not understand why I was coming with Wales (West Longitude) when everyone else had Amsterdam (East Longitude)....

Maybe this is the mistake they refer to??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I'm probably in the minority, but I just don't know if a Med cruise would sell well with families or not. Do you realize how expensive that would be?

I'm kind of bummed. I was really hoping for an itinerary that was somewhat affordable, and I don't think that will happen. Disney is outpricing me and that's hard to do!

I was wishing that the new itinerary is Hawaii. It would make some sense since they had such success of departing out of California last year. Hawaii is something my family would enjoy, but stil majorly expensive. I just think my kids are too young to really get anything out of a Med cruise.

Question for my experienced dis friends...

When they release the dates on the 21st, will they also begin sales?

If they DO start selling, what time will they start? 3am EST (similar to online Palo bookings)?

I know no one knows for sure but I'm wondering what everyone else's thoughts are based on past experiences. Should we set the alarm for the middle of the night to book? :confused3

The website also mentions a longitude and latitude that is near Sitka, AK.
I read that the coins are of St. Michael, and there is a St. Michael cathdral in Alaska. That's the name of the historic Russian Orthodox church in Sitka.

Oh, and the cooridnates on the newspaper article today are for Hawaii. That fits with the lava thing. The coordinates with the morse code message are for the London area.

This time they are doing things a bit differently. They will announce the new itineraries 3/21, but they will not be available for booking until 4/4.

That gives everyone 2 weeks to decide if they really want to book, unlike last time when people made multiple reservations and then decided which one they really wanted and cancelled the rest. This caused a logistical nightmare for DCL, TAs, and guests alike (and jacked the prices up FAST).

Yeah, they are going to NYC, Castaway Cay, Sitka Alaska, Amsterdam and Honolulu all in 2 weeks :confused3 My bet is that Castaway Cay is the only correct location. The rest are related to where the ship is actually going.

My point is that a lot of the clues point to Hawaii and Alaska. I think DCL would go to Hawaii and Alaska before they go to the Med. And I wish I worked for DCL, could you imagine the discounts I would get for the cruises.

Actually, I would imagine little or no discounts on special itineraries ... DCL doesn't offer CM or FL resident discounts until a few weeks before sailing typically ... and if the cruises are insanely popular, there may be no discounts offered at all :( (although I know the May repo cruise last year had CM discounts, but I don't think it had FL resident discounts available).

Note that today's clue mentions that a lot of Magic sightings have been falsely reported .. that might be a hint to the false rumors (e.g. Hawaii).

Like I said before, if you are planning on Hawaii you better start swimming. :rotfl2:

The Disney Magic is going to the Med.

On 2/9/06 the riviera ports had the following listed:

Port-Villefranche
Arrival date: June 4, 2007; June 14, 2007; June 25, 2007; July 5, 2007; July 16, 2007; July 26, 2007; August 6, 2007 and August 16, 2007. Arrival of the Disney Magic at 06:00 and departure on same date at 22:00. This was on the riviera-ports.com on 2/9/06 and when DCL found out about it they made them pull the information off. (kinda like Roberto in Acapulco giving us all the information before DCL would give it to us for the PC crossing!)

We are leaving on May 12, 2007 for the Meditteranean!

Hope to see you on board!!!!

The clues point towards a lot of different places. If you have a predetermined idea of where the cruise is going, you can link up any of the clues to your place -- in your case Hawaii. There are volcanos all over the earth, yet many people posting here seem to think it is Pompeii, Naples, Sicily, Hawaii and there are even volcanos in Alaska. I doubt that DCL is going to make that obvious of a clue with six days left. It doesn't make sense.

Here is my prediction. I believe the eastbound repositioning cruise will go to Castaway Cay, St. Thomas, possibly somewhere else in the eastern caribbean (Barbados or St. Lucia??), the Canary Islands, Madiera Island. I haven't figured out the connection for all of these stops (though at least half have volcanos). I think the 10 and 11 day cruises are going to be Mediterranean cruises. I think the remaining clues will point towards the rest of the ports. This is based on the map (not the coordinates) and the statement that previous reports of the ships location have been false.

This whole thing is way too intriquing!

In looking for the Japan Journal I found the Japan Journal published by Oxford Press. Oxford Press is a department of the University of Oxford in the U.K., which is another tie to England.

someone posted that the today's morse code is "locked in with the count". I don't think it has to do with the Count of Monte Cristo, but actually counting numbers. And I think it relates to the numbers on the pocket watch (6, 7, 8 & 9). Am I alone on this? :wave2:
i think so. you seem set on hawaii, so any clue will make sense there.
or for those of us that think it is the med, all the clues make sense for that. :confused3

we'll see in a few days.

you must realize how many families come to WDW from europe. probably more than enough to sell out every cruise for the summer in the med. add in all the nut cases from the US who will fly over and make the trip.
also, most 10-12 night cruises are $2500+ on most other cruise lines, so i don't think disney will be that much higher than anyone else. i also noticed that most of the other cruise lines have very few of the lower category rooms that accommodate 4 people, so you end up paying a higher rate. in the end, for cruise only, i think disney will be pretty competitive with what's already out there.

Count me as one of those nutcases!!!
We have frequent flyer miles so all we have to pay is the overpriced sail rates. But, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary so we want to do something special. We figure if we are going to spend $8-10 grand, it better be on a ship that we know will meet our needs and expectations.

So send me to the looney bin with the rest of us nuts!!! :Pinkbounc

Just kidding, but Chicken Little is coming out on DVD and video tape on this day as well. I wonder if this is just a coincidence or if this might relate as well.

How about the 3 round things in front of the ship's stack in the photo on the newspaper? Significance of "3"? 3 ships??

Another thought from earlier posts... Sitka, AL -- Sitka is a character in Brother Bear.

Sound you hear over the teacup -- sounds kind of like a slot machine??

Wow, I never realized how in depth all of this was. I think I'll jump on over to the site and check it out. Too bad my fulltime job doesn't have sound on the computer... =o(

I'm sure the DCL exec's are enoying their game ... heh -- it's one way to keep us guessing til the actual announcement. :rotfl2:

Remember - a lot of people on this board (and others) felt that DCL would never commit to a Med cruise. Even my TA didn't think it was in DCL's best interest.

Heh - on 3/21 we will all know - exactly where DCL thinks they can make their money (esp. from us :rotfl2: ). Until then - everything is up for grabs.
