Mystery at Sea

Not sure if anyone noticed but if you apply the same "confusion" to the lat / longitude coordinants ( is the slash a one or a slash ) and mix up the east and west longitude, then the Sitka coordinates become northern atlantic and the Amsterdam corrdinates become Irish Sea.

CC - NY - North Atlantic - Irish Sea ( before London ). Just a thought...

Question for my experienced dis friends...

When they release the dates on the 21st, will they also begin sales?

If they DO start selling, what time will they start? 3am EST (similar to online Palo bookings)?

I know no one knows for sure but I'm wondering what everyone else's thoughts are based on past experiences. Should we set the alarm for the middle of the night to book? :confused3

No, they will release the dates and intineraries, sales will start shortly after that.

My point is that a lot of the clues point to Hawaii and Alaska. I think DCL would go to Hawaii and Alaska before they go to the Med. And I wish I worked for DCL, could you imagine the discounts I would get for the cruises.

Remember..the ships have already been in the med...it would be going home for them to the place of their birth.

Yep, the cruises will probably be expensive..but disney has so many fans across the world I would guess they want some of these fans to experience the ship a little closer to home.

As for us..unless the prices are totally unrealistic, we will be going, definately on one of the repos and one of the 10/11 nighters. That's the plan for now anyway.

Count me as one of those nutcases!!!
We have frequent flyer miles so all we have to pay is the overpriced sail rates. But, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary so we want to do something special. We figure if we are going to spend $8-10 grand, it better be on a ship that we know will meet our needs and expectations.

So send me to the looney bin with the rest of us nuts!!! :Pinkbounc
i didn't mean to offend, as i will possibly be one of the nut cases, too.

But when will they release the PRICES? On 3/21? Or on 4/4 when the bookings are supposedly being released?

Giving us 2 weeks to decide between the itinerary/dates release and opening the bookings won't completely help calm the booking day frenzy if no one knows the prices before they call to book. Releasing the starting prices beforehand may convince many not to even call on booking day thus preventing some of the chaos. Are you listening DCL?

Great point Nancy! With the California announcement, DCL did report two days earlier what the itineraries would be, but no prices. Tell us the prices too DCL!!

DCL wants that choas on the booking day because it drives up the price of the cruises. As we all know, the price is cheapest the day the dates open up. For the Calif trips many people booked multiple dates which drove up the cost. DCL didn't lower the prices after the duplicate ressies were canceled.

It was stated that when you place your cursor over the cup of tea (very Brittish, BTW), you hear a slot machine.

I'm here to report that it's simply not true. It's actually another clue. What you hear isn't a slot machine, it's the sound of a cash register....a clue to how much we are going to spend on this cruise!! :teeth:

I hope they pad all of the rooms, because I'm joining the rest of you nutty people. heehee

Kitty :cat:

I never really picked up on it before, but now that you mentioned it, what is the noise the cup of tea makes when you drag your mouse over it? (not when you click on it, just drag over it) It almost sounds like those old rotary phones.

I attendend the last Disneyana event that WDW did and it was a mystery theme. Let me tell you, it was INVOLVED. Apparently Disney does this type of mystery thing with the cast members a lot, so they have had practive. If I remember correctly (and I am digging out my stuff from the event) much of it was false- just there to mess with you. In the end we got basically a numeric code to use and we had to go through a previous clue and cross out every so many words- the remaining words solved the mystery. So, the locked up with the count may be an indication that the numbers that have come out are part of what will be used to solve it. After all didn't it say crack the code somewhere or something like that? Anyway, I am enjoying this thread a lot and I can't wait to see how they announce it. I too think they got sick of everyone "knowing" about the new itinerary and decided to have some fun with it and frustrate us at the same time.

How about the 3 round things in front of the ship's stack in the photo on the newspaper? Significance of "3"? 3 ships??

Another thought from earlier posts... Sitka, AL -- Sitka is a character in Brother Bear.

Sound you hear over the teacup -- sounds kind of like a slot machine??
so, the magic is going to vegas? yeah, lake mead. ports include the grand canyon and boulder city!!

Another nut case :Pinkbounc jumping in with yet another wild guess:

1. The latitude/longitude clues are the source of the news articles which are about NOT finding the ship. Therefore, those indicate where the ship ISN'T. So the ship is NOT at Castaway Cay, Alaska, Hawaii, etc.

2. The morse code messages are from the Magic so these indicate where the ship IS.

The queen loves the pie (evil queen, apples, big apple, New York?)

Hot lava gone to the birds (Canary Islands?)

Enjoying the pigeons and the embrace (London?)

Locked in with the count (Count of Monte Cristo, Chateau D'If off the coast of Marseille?)

Wouldn't New York -> Canary Islands -> London -> Marseille be a really great transition cruise?

This is too much fun to try and figure out!

Don't forget Lake Powell to make the trip complete!
