MySpace.com & Teens - what do you do?

I just looked at that site since I had never heard of it. Wow, I was surprised at what I saw. I typed in my son's school (he is elementary so I wasn't worried about him) and was surprised at what I saw about some of the kids that go to this private Christian high school. Some of the profiles were completely innocent but some definitely were not. I would definitely keep my kids off this kind of site. Also, if I knew of one of my son's friends had a site with personal and questionable items on it, I would definitely inform the parents. In my opinion, there is just too much personal information on this site.

i have cousins & friends with myspace accounts & it really is disturbing some of the things people share with the online world. pictures, intimate details, etc. as a parent i would check my childs bio/blog.

My daughter has a Xanga account and my son is on MySpace. I know that Xanga is a lot like an on-line diary but what is the purpose of MySpace. What I've seen, there is no daily postings, just comments. So is it more like IM?
